Mutation: Cassie's power came about as the result of an accident in a chemistry class during her sophomore year of high school. Her body contains an extremely high level of the chloroform compound; why it hasn't killed her or permanently damaged her internal organs is yet a mystery. She never attended the X-Mansion; learning to control her mutation was a matter of trial-and-error (sometimes with more success than others). Generally she is able to keep a tight reign on her powers, and others can come into contact with her without fearing that they'll suffer the effects of the chloroform. However, if she becomes nervous or extremely agitated and loses focus, then the chloroform begins to seep from her pores. Anyone breathing the air immediately around her or touching her at that stage is almost certainly to experience the typical symptoms of dizziness, fatigue, headaches, and/or temporary loss of consciousness.
