Natural Abilities

Shape Shifting

Can take the shape of a Human woman with Fox ears and tails.

With a focus material belonging to the same nature as the target, she can assume it's appearance for quite awhile. The more this alternate form differs, from either her True Form, or her First Form, the more will it requires. This extra change requires some degree of concentration, over the whole of the period of which the Kitsune is transformed. As such, using anything but basic spells will break the form.

Lapses from being scared, or drunk, or growing careless can disrupt the change, as aspects begin to revert back to their original appearance. Usually the Ears and Tail pop out first, followed by a change in hair or skin colour, height and weight, and even dress.



Possession

By stalking a victim, and entering them while asleep, a Kitsune can wear away at a persons resistance unconsciously through their dreams. Normally the victim is unaware of this intrusion, and suffers from cravings for rice or sweet red beans, listlessness, restlessness, and aversion to eye contact.

In game terms, she would have to use this ability when a target is rendered unconscious, and even then must "ride along" with them for a sufficient amount of time. Each day that Akemi stays within the victim, they must pass a cumulatively reduced will save or fall under Akemi's control.




Dream Raiding

They are able to raid your dreams by putting things into your mind, or by weakening it through fear. Depending on their agenda, they may try to possess you, to harm you, or to simply be mischievous.

This is the main weapon used to erode a victims will during the act of possession. The simple act of Causing the subject to loose restful sleep is a great weapon in taking possession.



Creating Illusionary Worlds

Not just simple 3D replicas. These illusionary worlds might also be indistinguishable from the real world. These illusions would fool your senses, your thoughts, and your mind. For most Kitsune however it is restricted to stationary effects. Such as making it appear as though there was a house where there was not. Eating delicious food that was actually Mud or Trash. Drinking fine wine that was pond scum, etc.


Kitsune magic

Illusion

Kitsune are innate illusionists. To them, illusion is as real as anything else around them. A kitsune who uses illusion to appear human *is* human, and can talk, act, make love, and sire children while the illusion exists. A kitsune who transforms a staff into a snake, creates a snake who can crawl, bite, and kill.
The kitsune, using this glamour, can make objects, weapons, people, homes, and even manipulate the landscape to suite their needs. More often than not, the illusions are biased towards the element the kitsune is connected to. One kitsune is capable of creating illusions and manipulating the landscape in a small vicinity, but when kitsune gather their collective resources, whole cities can be made.


Realms

Kitsune can make pockets in reality. They can make an entire castle under someone's floorboard, and populate it with people. This world is real, but made from the spiritworld. As such, there can be a time-dilation. This time dilation, on average is: 1 day on Earth = 7 Years in the Realm. These realms are usually just homes, and forests, and are not whole worlds.

Currently her home realm is located within one side to her silk shawl. It consists of about a square kilometer of light forest, with a cherry tree glade surrounding a large sengoku period japanese house. The weather is always nice, with the occasional rainy day for the benefit of the plants that grow within.


Foxfire

Akemi can produce a small amount of blue fire whenever she desires. The strength of this fire can be adjusted from simply light and no heat, to slightly hotter then a blow torch. The more heat, the more effort required to produce and sustain it though.



Kitsune Ball

Akemi can create a small ball of focused kinetic energy. She can use this as a directed weapon, but is generally used as a focus for other magics.

In using it as a focus, she creates the ball, and then the corresponding symbol within it, then infusing it with the required energies.


Regular Magic

Akasic

This is the magic of chi, or essence. With it, Akemi can see auras and sites of power, and can manipulate, draw on, or expel chi. Akasic magic is not powerful, however, unless it is combined with other magics. It is good to draw in energy for things like healing, regeneration, and reversing the loss of essence that a kitsune causes by feeding.





Elemental Magic

Kitsune follow the oriental Elements, and as such are tied to the elements they represent. A kitsune can, to a limited extent, already influence the elements they are a part of, and if they study elemental magic, can become very dangerous in their field of study.
  1. Wind - Simple enough. With this study, they can create winds, cause tornadoes, and influence local weather patterns. This is also the element that manipulates ice and snow.
    • Simple - Change or create normal wind.
    • Moderate - Creates a cold gale, from-to a chosen direction.
    • Difficult - Generates a raging wind storm over a square kilometer, centered on the caster.
    • Severe - Summons a Local Entity of Extreme Power over the Wind and Air
  2. Earth - They can move rocks, transmute minerals and physical objects, and build things.
    • Simple - Change the apparent density of a rock, so as to make it easier or harder to lift.
    • Moderate - Disintegrate or Integrate a rock or mineral. Breaking rock down into sand, and visa~versa.
    • Difficult - Transmute one mineral element into another.
    • Severe - Summons a Local Entity of Extreme Power over Crafting and Earth
  3. Fire - This is a kitsune's specialty. They can create fire, control fire, and cook meals.
    • Simple - Create light and heat. Generally like Foxfire, though natural in colour, and not as extreme.
    • Moderate - Ignites a large fireball, which Akemi can cast out in a linear direction.
    • Difficult - Summons a minor fire elemental, which has a very basic intelligence and is self destructive. When it dies however, it explodes in oily flame.
    • Severe - Summons a Local Entity of Extreme Power over Fire
  4. River - This is a life-giving power. They can create water, or control the creatures that live in water. They can heal others with this element, and bring life to things around them.
    • Simple - Create clean water.
    • Moderate - Heal minor wounds.
    • Difficult - Heal Major wounds.
    • Severe - Summons a Local Entity of Extreme Power over Curative Magics.
  5. Ocean - This is a cousin to River, but to a larger scale. This is where kitsune cause very strong storms, flooding, and tsunamis. This is how mages conjure creatures from the depths.
    • Simple - Change direction of current.
    • Moderate - Cause swells and waves.
    • Difficult - Generate a large tidal wave.
    • Severe - Summons a Local Entity of Extreme Power over the Oceans.
  6. Forest - This allows for the control and manipulation of wood, trees, and creatures of the forest. Those who study this element are almost druidic in their ability to survive and blend in with the woods, and can find herbs and roots to work salves with.
    • Simple - Divine the location of edible and medicinal plants.
    • Moderate - Converse with or control simple forest creatures.
    • Difficult - Bend trees and plants to her will, as though they were extensions of her own body.
    • Severe - Summons a Local Entity of Extreme Power over Nature.
  7. Mountain - Cousin to stone, this element allows for the control of the mountains, and those that live in it. With this, kitsune can cause earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and landslides.
    • Simple - Ground Shake
    • Moderate - Form an earth golem
    • Difficult - Cause Earthquake
    • Severe - Summons a Local Entity of Extreme Power over Fire and the Airy heights of a Mountain.
  8. Thunder - The cousin to Wind, a mage can throw lightning, cause storms, and create shields of energy. (control machines, net-run without a computer, etc, etc...)
    • Simple - Generate an electrical shield, won't stop physical objects from passing through, but will strike them with lightning.
    • Moderate - Gathers electrical energy and directs it as a bolt at a target.
    • Difficult - Gathers electrical energy in the location, to generate a spontaneous electrical storm.
    • Severe - Summons a Local Entity of Extreme Power over Electricity.
  9. Celestial - This is the power of magic, and the heavens. With this, a mage can teleport, call upon creatures of magic, and throw meteors at targets. This allows a kitsune to do most other magics at a very reduced effect.
    • Simple - Flash a short distance (10d10 meters) away.
    • Moderate - Summons an Arcane energy Wraith.
    • Difficult - Saturates the area in Celestial energy making Spells one step easier to cast.
    • Severe - Summons a Local Entity of Extreme Power over Arcane Energy
  10. Dark - This is the magic of the void. With this magic, kitsune can cause blights, drain life, summon creatures of darkness, slip into shadows to vanish, and drain the light from areas
    • Simple - Drain Life, tethers a strand of void between caster and target, which transfers their life energy to the caster over time.
    • Moderate - Forms a Void Gate to teleport vast distances.
    • Difficult - Create Darkness and Death, Over a large area (10d10x10 meter radius) where everything within the darkness slowly weakens.
    • Severe - Summons a Void Beast
  11. Spirit - This is the manipulation of the spirit world, demons, and other creatures. Magic of this nature does not work on mortals well, since mortals have SOULS, not spirits. As such, kitsune have to wait for someone to die, before this sort of magic will effect someone well. With this, a kitsune can bind, summon, banish, ward or trap a spirit.
    • Simple - Take in ambient Spiritual Energy to sustain oneself in place of food and water.
    • Moderate - Set wards in place over an area to snare, turn or conceal from the sight of a Spiritual Creature, such as those mentioned.
    • Difficult - Summon or Banish a Spiritual Creature, such as those mentioned.
    • Severe - Summon or Banish a Specific Spiritual Creature, must have either a part of it, or have it's True name to work.




Feng Shui

This is the study of Geomancy. Sites of power, and ley lines are a large part of this magic. With this, a person can find out the best way to build on a site, creating a location of power, or a means to tap into a leyline or a nexus. This allows someone to travel the Dragon Lines (ley lines) to get from location to location, and also allows them to tap the line for power.




Ju-Fo

This is runic magic. With this, a mage can write the words of power, or call them out to create magic effects. These are also good for warding places, banishing or controlling spirits, and binding sites.
