Growing up in America was tough on Mairead. Her father was a weak wizard who always preferred to pretend he didn’t have any powers at all, and her mother was a Muggle. The family lived in a pleasant Muggle suburb, where everyone was friendly and happy all the time, and anything or anyone out of the norm was wrong. This made life difficult for Mairead, because of her odd appearance, as well as the strange events that surrounded her as her powers began to develop.
It’s not long after her powers start developing that her parents decide to move back to Ireland to get back in touch with their roots, as well as become reacquainted with the Dravens who had stayed behind. Several years pass, and Mairead finally receives her letter, much to the surprise of her parents, who had always assumed that the tales of witchcraft in the family had been nothing more than just that: tales.
Mairead is usually pretty shy. She can normally be found outdoors, socializing with one of the Draven cousins, learning about the family history, or just reading a book.
