Students cannot know spells outside their year's curriculum unless they RP out training or their character was registered with something as a specialty, this has to be in their profile or we will take action against a character that is performing spells they should not be performing.

The HP lexicon is pretty vague on the curriculum, saying that while it's loosely regulated by the Ministry that the professors are given a pretty wide girth to make their own curriculum. Because of this I'm just going to list the classes people can take depending on their year and then I'd like to have all the players who play professors to post a reply to this post with their professors's curriculum for each year. Thanks!

Fist years:

Astronomy
Charms
Defense Against the Dark Arts (DADA)
Herboloy
History of Magic
Potions
Transfiguration
Flying

Second years - Fifth years:

All classes from first year excluding Flying as well as the option to take two or more of the following electives:

Care of Magical Creatures
Arthimancy
Muggle Studies
Muggle and Magical Artifacts:
Ancient Runes
Divination
Health and Healer Studies
Dueling
Choir
Alchemy

Sixth years and 7th years:

They cut down their courses based on the grades they received on their O.W.Ls (Ordinary Wizarding Levels) and end up with a schedule of 4-5 of any of the above listed clases.

Third year: Basics of Divination- This year will mostly focus on simple tea leaf reading and crystal balls, as well as weeding out those that absolutely don’t have the Sight.

Fourth year: Palm Reading and Tarot- Pretty basic, there’s not much description needed here.

Fifth year: Dream Interpretation- Students will be required to keep a journal detailing their dreams throughout the year, which we will go over in class periodically. Additionally, we will be building on the basic skills learned the previous years.

Sixth year: Astrology as It Relates to Divination- Special attention will be given to the cultures throughout history and the predictions they have made. During the second term, students will be required to observe the stars and describe how their respective positions relate to daily life. (Accurate predictions will gain the student extra credit.)

Seventh year: Prophecy- This year will be the most intensive, and we will be using some of the best known methods to bring about the prophetic state of mind, including but not limited to smoke reading.

*Raising an eyebrow at the request that he has been given, he would shake his head a bit. Pulling over a piece of parchment, quill, and ink, he would write the following.*

In spite the fact that this class is technically a class, I shall like to inform those taking it that with a few rare exceptions, there shall be no set course curriculum which shall be taught to the class as a whole. Those exceptions are base concepts, and even then they shall only be taught if it is believed that the class in general has reached the needed skill level. If only a few individuals have reached that required level, then it shall be them and only them that shall be taught these concepts. For dueling is an art, and like any art, one cannot expect that all those who attend this class shall excel or fall together. Individual students shall be provided feed back, including both positive and negative feed back and how to correct their flaws, but it shall fall upon the students to rise to the occasion and improve their dueling abilities on their own.

Multiple duels will be allowed to take place during the course of the class, with a maximum of up to 5 duels. They shall be closely monitored and any student breaking the rules established for the safety of themselves or their peers shall be allowed only one infraction before they are permanently removed from this class.

The following shall be the ONLY "curriculum" given.

2nd years: Introduction to dueling

4th years: Advanced dueling techniques

5th years: Refinement of one's dueling abilities

6th years: Elemental dueling techniques

7th years: Dueling in unregulated environments (including those duels which potentially result in life or death situations)

As previously stated, if individual students prove that they have advanced past the "curriculum level" they shall be taught what I deem is necessary for them to advance according to their abilities. In the same light, if there are any students who's level is not where it should be, they shall be excluded from the lesson until they prove themselves capable of such techniques.

*Takes what he has written down and nails it to the front of his classroom door for anyone to see.*
