Brief History: Effex was born into the matrix as John Bishop. Like anyone else in the Matrix he led a conflict filled existence with divorced parents and a rough neighborhood to grow up in. He gained the attention of the zion rebels when he decided to become an arsonist. He had to be rescued from juvenile hall following his incarceration. At age 15 he was then freed from the matrix to live for a time in zion. He found that he couldn't be happy living in zion though. He had never lost the drive to get back at the system in some form. And what better way to fight the system then on a ship? He started on the midway at age 18 and has served for five years so far. During this time he was promoted several time and is now the acting engineer on board the vessel as well as the resident demolitions expert for missions.
