Roland "Lance" Walker was born on the planet Tarion, which was a world in the Unknown Region. His father, Roland Tomas Walker was the High King of their world and his mother was Jessa, a commoner whom Roland had fallen madly in love with. Like their son, they were force sensitive though they called the force the D'kai. Lance, who was the youngest in the family, had an older brother Irek who constantly argued with his father on political matters about the planet and how it was ruled. The tension between Irek and his father escalated when Roland found out that Irek had gone behind his back acting as official ambassador for their world. The young prince had made a deal with the Warith, a species who was known to kill the Tarions. King Roland was enraged and denounced Irek as his son then proceeded to banished the boy from the kingdom. Infuriated with his father's decision Irek turned to the Warith for help. Plans were set in motion and within a month an attack was carried out on the royal house hold. Both High King Roland and Queen Jessa were killed in the attack, but not before they gave an order to their most loyal family guard; "Save the prince, save our son. Do not let them kill Lance." The guard found the small boy hiding in his room under his bed and the two of them managed to make it to the docking bay before they were attacked as well. The guard was able to get Lance inside his ship though in protecting him the man was fatally wounded. He managed to keep himself alive long enough to set the auto pilot and knew that the boy would be able to land the ship. The destination was Tatooine, it was the last place the guard though that Irek would think to look for Lance. Only a few hours into the flight, the guard died. When Irek was informed of the escape, he was furious and he vowed that he would find his brother and destroy him.
Once on Tatooine Lance managed to live on his own for a while, though life was hard and he didn't have any credits. One day he stumbled upon the Mos Esliey Cantina and found that most of the people there were kind to him, even though he was noting more than a child. Lance was able to find work running errands for the smugglers or pirates who came into the bar. For now this life was working for the child and he was happy enough and usually had a place to stay during the cold nights. Meanwhile, Irek had sent two bounty hunters after his brother with the hopes that they would be able to find him and bring the child back for his execution. One of the hunters was able to track the boy all the way to Tatooine and finally caught up with him one afternoon. He had managed to chase the boy into an alley way and was closing in for the capture when suddenly all hell broke lose on him. She lept from the roof top, her saber drawn, the deep gold blade pulsing as she brought it down slicing through the hunter's blaster rifle. The man started to draw another weapon but the Jedi twirled her blade bring it down on the hunters arm. He cried out falling back and decided that if the boy was being protected by a Jedi then it was not worth the risk. The female Jedi introduced herself as Kess and told Lance to come with her. The boy followed and soon the Jedi learned of the boy's situation. Kess also realized that the child was force sensative and had a grasp of basic force techiques. Lance had started to learn a few things about the Force and how to use it before his father had died. Having lost her own apprentice years ago in the attacks on the Jedi Kess had refused to take another...though within only a few hours of meeting the boy she knew that she was being called to train him. The pair of them lived and trained for nearly two years until one day Kess told Lance that she was running an errand and she never returned. (To this day Lance still does not know what happened to his first Master though he assumes she is dead.) Lance found himself once again on his own at the age of 7 though this time he was far more prepared then he had been before.

Nearly a month after all of this had taken place Lance was captured by Kirk Havoc the other bounty hunter which Irek had hired to find his brother. Havoc took the boy to his ship where, using the Force, Lance broadcasted a SOS signal to anyone who could hear. Within moments of the broadcast a woman named Elisia came to the ship. She confronted Havoc and after a long discussion she agreed to pay the hunter twice the amount Irek had agreed to pay him. Lance was released into Elisia's care and she explained that she had heard his call for help. Elisia soon learned of the boy's situation and she was so taken with him that she invited Lance to live with her. As it turned out Elisia was royalty. She was from a world known as Draconis and was it's queen. Within months of having known the boy she had grown so fond of him that she adopted Lance as her own son. From that day on Lance was known as Lance Walker, prince of Draconis. Draconis was a very small and peaceful agricultural world. Lance spent his childhood there and for once in his life he understood what it was truly like to have a family. Elisia's husband Liam welcomed Lance into the family and became a great father to the boy. Liam, a Jedi as well and a great leader of his people taught Lance all that he knew. Liam often took the boy with him on missions and introduced him to Luke Skywalker and the Jedi on Ossus. During his years on Draconis Lance made friends with a younger girl named Sierra who lived in the village near the palace. Sierra and Lance spend endless hours exploring the woods and visiting the waterfalls of the planet.

During this time Irek had turned the once peaceful and beautiful planet of Tarion into a nightmareish world of chaos. He had made the pact with the Warith to gain more power and they were enslaving the people to use as labor and food. Irek's heart had grown even more cold over the years and the people had tried everything they could to overthrow him but to no avil. At this point in time Lance had turned 18 and he had decided it was time for him to return to his world and face his brother. Liam accompanied Lance back to Tarion and both were shocked at the sight they encountered. This was not the world Lance remembered. The two men were able to convince a family in the village to allow them to stay the night and the eldest man of the house, a man by the name of Vornior explained what had been happening over the years. Furrious Lance swore that he would take revenge on his brother and reclaim the throne and their world. A resistance movement had been created over the years and Lance and Liam were able to organize an attack over the next few days. They struck without warning and fought their way into the palace past the guards both Tarion and Warith. Lance detesed every moment of this fight. He had been into battle before along side Liam...but nothing had ever compared to this. He was striking at his own people...yes they were traitors, but they were still his people. The young man did his best not to kill him, to simply wound them and move on but it was difficult and he could feel that anger rising inside himself. Eventually they made it to the throne room where Irek stood with his own blade ready to fight. "Surrender, Irek. Surrender and I will let you go." Lance told his brother, but Irek would have none of it. He attacked Lance and their battle began.

Despite Lance's young age the battle was intense. Ireki was a skilled fighter who had spent his years homing his skills. The two brothers fought their way across the throne room, neither seeming to gain the upper hand for some time. Soon Lance was being forced back and try as he might he was put on the defensive until finally Irek managed to disarm his brother. The boy's lightsaber clattered across the ground and Irek reached out with the force to lift his younger brother up into the air. Struggle as he did Lance was unable to free himself from the force grip and he hung helpless in the air. Lance watched as Irek drew in for the final blow. His brother lifted his blade but before it could give the finishing strike Irek suddenly froze in place. His expression was one of shock and his face went pale as he dropped his gaze to his chest. The navy blade had pierce his chest and was pulsing as the smell of burnt flesh began to fill the room. Lance was released from the force grip and he dropped to the ground. He reached out his hand to his lightsaber which suddenly twisted in Irek's body then flew straight into his grasp. By the time Liam had made his way to the throne room he found Lance kneeling on the ground next to his brother's fallen body with tears streaking down his young face.

When the Warith's leader learned of Irek's death he ordered his troops to withdraw from the planet and return to their ships. Lance and Liam instantly felt a sense of impending danger and they quickly made their way back to the village shouting for everyone to take cover and get to safety. Tunnels had been created under the village over the years which led into the red mountains. The Tarion people had managed to keep these tunnels secret from the Warith and had been using them to smuggle people out of the city for years. It was dangerous, but it was the best they could do. Within moments of having taken refuge a horrible series of explosions shook the whole mountain. The village was being bombarded.Huddled together within the darkness this group of only 200 Tarrions listened as their world was being destroyed. The Warith ships did not stop with that single village but continued on until they had destroyed every settlement they could find. Once they had finished the Warith left Tarion space and continued on to find a new world to inhabit. When the people finally surfaced from the red mountains there was nothing left but scorched soil. The same people who had stood beside Lance only hours ago suddenly turned on the boy blaming him for their fate. Lance was devastated by this turn of events and Liam had to take the boy and retreat fearing that they were going to kill the child. Eventually Liam was able to contact Draconis and ships were sent to pick up the survivors. Tarion never recovered and it's people were scattered throughout the galaxy.

After the loss of Tarion Lance left Draconis and returned to Tatooine. He needed time away from his family to deal with the destruction of his world...in his eyes it had been his fault. While on Tatooine Lance ended up making a friend who would play a very important role in Lance's life for years to come. The man's name was Marc Harding, a pilot for the New Republic and as it turned out they ended up saving each other's lives when a fight broke out in the Cantina. Despite their age difference Marc and Lance became fast friends after that day and they always kept in touch. It was Harding that taught Lance how to pilot a ship, though eventually the two friends parted ways and would not see each other again for a few years.

Through out the next few years Lance made new friends and gained powerful new enemies. One enemy in particular was an Imperial Agent named Klave. He was as ruthless as vornskr and had a strong hatred for the boy after Lance had managed to destroy three of his ships. Lance had joined up with Marc Harding and the New Republic fleet in order to make a strike against the Imperials. Lance had been told to rondevoue with the squadron at their secret location, however the boy never made it. Lance was captured by Agent Klave before he could leave Tatooine and the man was determined to get the information he needed concerning the location of the New Republic fleet. By this point in his life Lance had become extremely adept in force manipulation and was able to convince the Agent that he was telling the truth...though this was not before he had been made to suffer at the hands of Klave. With the coordinates in hand Klave released Lance then sent three of his ships to scout a head and if so destroy with venerable fleet. The ships never had a chance. When they jumped out of hyper space they were pulled into the gravity well of a dying star. The three ships were instantly destroyed. Agent Klave was furious when he found out that he had been deceived by a child.and his reaction was swift and merciless. He sent his ships to Draconis having given them the order of "Base Delta Zero" which was the code for the complete surface destruction of a planetary target, eliminating all life, industry, and natural resources. Like Tarion before, Draconis was nearly all but destroyed. Lance's family perished in the attack and only a handful of survivors managed to escape the Imperial wrath.

Anger, hate, and a longing for vengence was all the boy felt for months. He tried desperately to find some way to get back at Klave for having destroyed his family...but nothing he did seemed to work. Be it by chance or by the sheer will of the force Lance's ship broken down while he was passing Ossus and he was forced to Lance on the planet to repair. The Jedi there knew the boy as he had visited many times before with Liam and he was allowed to remain in the temple while his ship was being repaired. It was during this time that Lance met the one person who was capable of bringing him out of his darkness. Her name was Kjersti Renn. This Jedi Master was one of Lance's own kind, a Tarion. Kjersti had left Tarion with her mother when she was a child but when her mother died Kjersti was taken in by the Jedi. She had grown up on Ossus and had trained at the temple for nearly her whole life. She knew who Lance was and she did not blame him for the destruction of their world. Only after a few short days of having met Lance Kjersti took him on as her apprentice and was the Master who completed the young man's training. It was Kjersti Renn who managed to bring Lance back from the edge of darkness and mold him into the Jedi he has become.

A few years later Lance convinced Kjersti to return with him to Draconis. Lance had always felt as though he had unfinished business there and as he had been a member of the royal family he still believed it was his destiny to return. The two of them made the journey to the planet and Lance was met by an inspiring sight. There had been survivors! What's more the Imperials had not managed to destroy the entire world and one small forest had survived and was starting to spread back out over the planet. Kjersti and Lance made their way into the small settlement that had begun to develop and it was then that Lance was shocked to discover that his Aunt Nimah had survived as well. She had been leading their people in rebuilding their city one house at a time. With Kjersti's premision Lance made the choice to remain on Draconis to help them rebuild. During this time on Draconis Lance made one more discovery, Sierra, his childhood friend had returned to Draconis as well. As it had been when he was a child, Lance was quite taken with her fierce personality and exceptional fighting skills. She was a brilliant woman who never had a second thought to telling him exactly what she was thinking and it wasn't long before their relationship flourished.

A few years later while he was still on Draconis Lance suddenly felt a very familiar presense one afternoon. He made his way towards one of the empty hangars and there sitting on one of the boxes crying was Marc Harding's son, Comkin. Lance had met Comkin only a few times before, but he knew that Marc had told the boy that Lance was his Uncle. When Lance asked the boy what was wrong Comkin explained that his father had left him on the planet and that Lance was supposed to take care of him from now on. Lance closed his eyes cursing silently to himself. If Harding had left Comkin alone on Tatooine then it meant he was not coming back for a long time. As it turned out, however, Lance soon took Comkin on as his apprentice and the boy became part of his family.
