-Biography-
After many years since the bomb had hit, after the mass death of humans, a new rise of mutant animals has risen to inherit the world left behind to rebuild what was destroyed.
Born and raised in the remains of Philadelphia, Giger Van Gogh is the oldest of four siblings and is the only male of the group. Having grown up in the rough streets of the remains of Philadelphia, Giger was often forced to defend himself and his sisters from mutant gangs, like the Road Hogs and Anti-Mutant human groups. Because of this, Giger has had to look to library archives regarding the martial arts, learning fragmented parts of Karate and Tae Kwon Do. Giger has since then developed a fascination with the martial arts but lacked the necessary tools to efficiently attain assured victories.
It wasn’t until one day where Giger and his family were in serious danger of being killed by a traveling mutant gang, the Road Hogs. Fighting with his heart and all his strength, Giger manages to briefly hold off the gang but eventually is defeated. However he manages to catch the attention of ninjutsu master, Leonardo, who at the time was trailing after the gang for their murderous crimes and thieving ways. Shortly after defeating the gang, Leonardo acknowledges Giger’s potential and offers to pass on his skills to help him and his siblings find their strength.
Over three years in training, Giger has acquired the necessary skills and has found his strength to protect himself and his family.
Now a new generation of Ninja Turtles fight to protect their home and those close to them. Recently, Giger has acquired a Symbiote which had chosen him as it's host. Discovering new abilities, as well as his own being enhanced, Giger aims to be a better shinobi while instilling Leonardo's teachings to balance out the Symbiote's impulsive nature.
-=Mutations and Adaptations=-
Enhanced Speed - As a result of his mutation and his training in the art of Ninjutsu, Giger has developed low superhuman speed. His honed reflexes enable him to dodge bullets and deflect lasers with little difficulty.
Leathery Hide - As with all reptiles, Giger Van Gogh has a scale hide which offers him more resistance against physical attacks. Despite this light defense, it can be prone to bruising and lacerations.
Protective Shell - A natural adaptation carried over to his mutation. The shell serves as Giger’s natural form of defense. It is strong enough to withstand small caliber firing and extreme blunt force trauma. Giger Van Gogh can retract his head, arms and legs into his shell for full protection.
Semi-Aquatic - Giger is a member of Trachemys Scripta Elegans, the Red Ear Slider species of pond slider. Giger is comfortable in both land and in water. He is a natural swimmer and can stay under water for a prolonged amount of time. At maximum, Giger can remain underwater for thirty minutes before resurfacing for air.
-=Skills and Abilities=-
Kenjutsu - Japanese swordsmanship. Giger has been trained in the ways of Kenjutsu by Leonardo and is skilled with the ninjaken.
Shurikenjutsu - The Art of Shuriken Throwing. As part of his ninjutsu training, Giger has been trained in this skill. This skill is not limited to just throwing shurikens, but other small objects such as throwing needles, knives and caltrops. Shurikens aren't necessarily for killing, meant more for distraction but if thrown right, can be lethal.
Shinobi-Iri - Stealth and Infiltration. As part of his training, Giger has been taught how to be stealthy and quiet. He has been taught how to move as to make as minimal noise next to no noise as possible. He also has been taught to hide and remain patient until needed to do so. Giger is also capable of utilizing the Shadow Step technique and using the environment to remain hidden.
Ki Manipulation - Through intense meditation from the lessons with Leonardo, Giger has learned to attune himself to his own internal energy. Through concentration, Giger can harness his Ki to augment his physical and mental capabilities to further levels. Giger can suppress his Ki to be invisible to those with extra-sensory abilities, imbue his weapons with this energy for more damaging strikes, or heal himself through meditation. As of recently, he has learned to create Ki spheres through meditation though this is a non-combat oriented ability.
Ki Sense - As a result of intensive training in developing his Ki harnessing skills and abilities, Giger has developed a sixth sense which allows him to feel the presence of others, acting as a minor Danger Sense. He can feel the presence of others and whatever anomalies nearby in the form of rushes or pings. He has yet to refine this ability.
Ghost Strike - By intensely attuning his own natural Ki flow to his hands, feet or even mundane weapons, Giger is able to utilize an ability that allows him to harm spiritual entities or adversaries with magically induced intangibility. When utilizing this ability, even a weapon as humble as a bokken can be extremely formidable to those who believe themselves untouchable. This is because it is considered a spiritual based attack, and therefore spiritual and magical beings are susceptible to it. This technique does not apply to certain opponents such as demonic entities, as they require either True Faith or a Holy weapon to affect with this ability.
Shokusha-ken - By developing and conditioning the muscles in his arms and hands to deliver faster and harder punches, Giger Van Gogh has developed a technique which utilizes a flurry of punches meant to deliver blows which leave an opponent bruised, battered and disoriented. This quick succession of blows is delivered to the mid-section, chest and head. The Turtle can further enhance this technique by infusing it with his own Ki, by fortifying his bones and muscles to deliver faster, stronger strikes with his Ki infused fist, leaving devastating injuries. This subset technique is known as Moretsuna-ken.
Kage Senpuu Kyaku - Taking inspiration from watching the kicks often practiced by Tae Kwon Do practitioners, Giger Van Gogh has developed an aerial kicking technique unique to his style. By utilizing a combination of momentum and body mechanics, Giger Van Gogh can build up the necessary speed and motion to develop the power while also performing a leap. As he turns while airborne, Giger Van Gogh unleashes multiple spinning kicks consisting of a roundhouse kick, back thrust kick and another roundhouse kick. Giger Van Gogh can perform up to four kicks in succession in one fluid motion if enough momentum and body movement is utilized to deliver stunning blows onto the opponent. By infusing his Ki into this technique, Giger can deliver faster, harder, and a higher number of kicks onto an opponent, potentially leaving them broken and battered. This subset technique is known as Boryoku Senpuu Kyaku.
Sato Oshi Strike - A powerful and ancient ninja technique dating back centuries which is said to have been developed and named after the founding members of the Foot clan, Sato and Oshi. It focuses the body's latent energy into a single blow and can prove as lethal to the user as it is to the opponent. By channeling his energy to his fists, Giger Van Gogh can cause his hands to vibrate with intense power and by performing an unarmed strike to the opponent's body, he can cause debilitating and potentially fatal damage such as broken bones and internal bleeding. The effects of this technique are similar to the Quivering Palm. This technique has been passed down from Master Splinter, to Master Leonardo and after intense practice and preparation, Giger Van Gogh. Very few ninja have been able to utilize it's power, and those who do are considered exceptionally dangerous.
Seirei Kantsu-ken - Otherwise known as Spirit Penetration Fist. Giger Van Gogh has developed a special technique unique to the Kage Kame-ryu by taking principals of the Sato Oshi Strike, as well as Karate's Uraate technique to develop a powerful skill. Seirei Kantsu-ken is a fulcrum based transference skill of Ki transmission that teaches one to shift the point and force of impact by striking the dead center of an object. At expert-levels, a practitioner can transmit the force of impact wherever they please, as long as a medium exists to transmit their power through. By collecting the rotational force of one's movement and focusing one's Ki to a needle point, Giger Van Gogh then directs this collected energy straight forward via a punch to deliver an explosive shockwave into and through an opponent's body. This technique is ideal to utilize against armored opponents and has the potential to seriously injure, cripple or kill however, Giger Van Gogh has not used this technique on an opponent yet but he has practiced this technique in the event it is ready to be utilized.
Power Within - Alternatively known as Chikara Kakusei. By delving deeper into meditation while in training sessions, and by further developing his ability to harness and utilize his Ki, Giger Van Gogh has recently tapped into the latent potential within. In this state, everything is more keenly focused, synchronized, and distilled in such a way as to augment his senses and physical capability to a new and incalculable level. His control over his own Ki flow seems to be refined to a near instantaneous application with no telegraph or foreshadowing of his intent. His reactions would seem to be done without thought, a concept referred to in Martial Arts as Mushin. Giger's Ki flow also seems to be refined to a more powerful and purified state, and his physical strikes are imbued with Ki with such fluency and finesse as to seemingly manifest of its own accord. Weapons can be further imbued with this enhanced flow of Ki in this state as well. Although the Turtle has tapped into this potential, he has yet to fully apply it in combat and master it further.
Psychic Barrier - An artificial ability granted to Giger through activating one of Nikki Quallas' Crystal Tears. Activation of the Tear had granted Giger Psychic Barriers. This allows him to be invisible to those with Psychic abilities. It also prevents unwanted telepathic links to be established, defends against telepathic blasts and psychic scrambling and prevents Giger from being mind controlled. As Giger had wished for a high level mental defense from the Crystal Tear, the barrier is comparable to a master level psionic defense.
-=Kuzuri=-
A unique ninjaken forged after Giger Van Gogh's first weapon had been destroyed. Seizing the opprotunity to create a weapon he can call his own, rather than using a weapon handed to him, Giger designed a new ninjaken and forged it from steel imported from Earth with the aid of two Utrom weapon masters. He even had named the weapon after an alleged fallen hero and mentor, also engraving the weapon's name on the blade written as “ウルヴァリン” in honor of this hero. The blade didn't see combat until Giger had been requested by Alessa Nightfall to hunt down a demon named Virik, and his success in killing the demon was Kuzuri's first slaying an enemy and tasting blood. In exchange for fulling the contract, Alessa offered the Turtle to enhance Kuzuri through a mystic awakening ritual. Armed with a new companion, Giger strives to reach his potential as well as develop the abilities and potential of Kuzuri. This awakened ninjaken has three names being "Kuzuri", "Kuekuatsu" and it's true name...The Wolverine.
Ki Slash - Another of the ninjaken's more unique abilities. By drawing upon his own Ki, and focusing it into the blade, Giger can will the blade to project arcs of energy outward to an enemy. The effects of this ability are as if the enemy is being cut by Kuzuri itself. Giger is developing this ability and it's limits are yet to be seen. It has been proven to leave deep scars in thick layers of steel and was able to cut several inches deep in several pillars of Quartz crystal that were bound together as one and recently after intense and diligent practice, it has been able to cut through Mithril armor.
Triple Strike - A recent and enhanced version of the Ki Slash. Giger focuses his Ki and wills Kuzuri to release not one, but three projectiles in a single strike of Kuzuri. Much like the normal Ki Slash, the effects of this ability are is the enemy is being cut by Kuzuri itself, but multiplied by three. The wounds left are likely grievous from the Triple Strike.
Disruption - Alternatively known as Dispel. When Giger focuses his Ki into the ninjaken, not only does it possess the ability to enhance it's cutting capabilities and release projectiles, but it can disrupt and dispel magic based attacks, barriers, armor and weapons. At first, this ability was limited to only close quarters but Giger has developed it for ranged attacks. Giger can expand the effects of the Disruption ability up to fifty feet, but this affects enemies and allies alike who rely on magic and as such, spells, charms and incantations are also nullified.
Disruption Slash - A recent ability which had been developed by Giger for ranged combat capabilities. A subset skill of the Ki Slash and Triple Strike but infused with the magic negating properties of the Disruption ability. Being struck with the Disruption Slash inflicts physical lacerations and disrupts an opponent's magic. Attempting to absorb the Disruption Slash still results in an opponent's magic or an enchanted artifact being disrupted, leaving them momentarily vulnerable and possibly having to rebuild reserves.
Shockwave - After having developed the Disruption Field ability, Giger Van Gogh has worked with Kuzuri to develop an offensive widespread attack against multiple opponents. By focusing his energy flow into Kuzuri, and training the blade to release this energy in a powerful burst which has a range of fifty feet that causes physical knock back. This ability can be infused with Disruptive properties to affect beings who utilize magic, rendering their magic negated and requiring them to cast their spells again. Recently, Giger further developed this ability to be more offensive by infusing more of his energy into the technique, resulting in a much more violent and destructive shockwave with a blue flame like energy that it could disintegrate enemies and the surrounding objects caught in the blast. This is usually done when the blade is struck downward at the ground to trigger the effect, and the downside is that it requires a fair deal of Giger's energy. To better cope with this downside, Giger Van Gogh further strengthened and developed his energy reserves to where this technique can be used three times maximum.
Impede Healing - A subset ability to the Ki Augmentation and Disruption abilities. This primarily focuses on dealing with enemies which have natural regenerative healing factors. It doesn't halt their healing, but it impedes the regenerative process to a crawl, making blood loss much more severe and also affects the body's immune system, making gangrenous infections in the wounds much easier to occur. Healing factors that work in minutes and hours will take days, possibly even weeks to heal without the aid of intervening curative magic, self-performed or by an external caster. This ability takes effect whenever Kuzuri deals damage onto an opponent such as lacerations and stab wounds.
Limited Indestructibility - Part of Alessa's ritual when awakening Kuzuri was imbuing it with enhanced durability. As such, the blade will never break no matter how hard Giger strikes with it, or the blows sustained. It will never be needed to be sharpened, nor will it ever rust. Kuzuri is for all intents and purposes indestructible, but not entirely. It's durability is dependent on Giger's will, and as long as his resolve is strong, it will not break. Should Giger ever lose his will, the blade is vulnerable. Alternatively, the blade could be taken to the altar within the forgotten city where it was awakened, and an attempt to destroy it could be made but this is unlikely to happen as Alessa Nightfall only knows the location of this altar.
