Full Name: Magus Codename: None Race: Evil Manifest Earth-616 Counterpart: Adam Warlock/Magus Age: None Affiliation: None Base of Operations: None Power(s): Cosmic Energy Manipulation/Quantum Magic: Magus is a genetic replicant of the man known as Adam Roberts. As such he is infused with the same cosmic radiation that Warlock possesses. Like Warlock he is able to harness this energy for feats of “Magick". However, the difference between Warlock and Magus skill in magick is their experience. Magus talents in conjuring is superior to that of Warlock, allowing him to perform larger spells. However, due to originating from a younger less potent Warlock, Magus power level is equivalent to his counter-part. Energy Projection: In addition to being able to manipulate the cosmic energy in the form of magick. He is able to harness it as raw energy. Projecting the energy out in the form of bursts of raw energy or pull in the energy to form a shield. He has also learned how to craft this energy into weapons by combining his ability for energy projection with his conjuring ability. In addition to this, he is able to project his energy to allow himself flight and even is able to focus his energy for controlled bursts of super speed. Energy Absorbtion: Magus is able to absorb energy from various forms of radiation, most notably the sun which he utilizes to recharge his energy. In addition to being able to absorb radiation as energy, he has also learned how to utilize his magic to pull energy from a living person. This requires direct physical contact to perform and he absorbs the proportionate energy of the individual. For example, absorbing the life energies of a mutant gives him more power than a normal human. Likewise absorbing the life energies from an omega-level mutant would give him more power than from a lesser mutant. Hyper Density: Like Warlock, the cellular structure of Magus is compressed by the cosmic energy that fills him. This increases Magus’ strength and density proportionately to where he is able to lift roughly four tons and is able to withstand blows in equal proportion to this. He can also increase his strength and durability by feeding energy into his body to compress the cellular structure further. He’s also learned to focus his ability of flight with his natural strength to create focused movements of super speed. He’s learned that he can project the energy in his body with his conjuring ability to stimulate his ability to heal. Since this is an expenture of energy and not a natural regenerative healing factor, he cannot perform the task without sufficient energy stores. He can also feed the cosmic energy into another person to stimulate their healing in the same way, though he seldom uses this ability. Conjuring: Magus is able to command the cosmic energies that flow through himself in a way that most understand as magick. He can manipulate the basic forces of the universe to command the elements, transmute material, open portals, or a number of other applications. The limit of his abilities lies in the scope of his knowledge. Like Warlock, his potential is yet untapped by its user. Avatar: Comic Art(Currently) Brief History: In the distant future, Adam Roberts will purge from himself the good and evil aspects from himself in a bid to become a force of pure cosmic balance. This attempt to untether himself from the bonds of morality and corruption results in the birth of the Goddess and the Magus. The Goddess, Warlock’s purer aspects embodied in a female form as a representation of Pure Good will begin her Crusade. Building an army of the righteous she seeks to ‘purify’ the universe and reality of all evil.On the surface this appears a noble conquest, but unbeknownst to her followers she secretly plots to rip the universe and rebuild a Utopia of her design. On the other end of the spectrum, the power-mad manifestation of Warlock’s evil has built his own army by conquering world after world in his bid to become the supreme entity of all of reality. He seeks only to conquer and destroy. His ways bring him to a natural war with the Goddess own forces and the two begin an interstellar war that destroys worlds and civilizations in its wake. A weakend and older Warlock tries his best to stop the rampaging armies of his counterparts, but is unable to do so. In a final bid to end the devastation, the elder Warlock takes in an orphaned child from one of the destroyed world. He enhances her abilities, brings her to the greatest warriors to train, and sends her to the pass as an assassin. Her mission: To kill a younger and weaker Adam Roberts before he can gain the power and knowledge that births Magus and the Goddess. However, time travel is a tricky thing. And Warlock’s effort would not go unnoticed by the Magus. Unable to travel to the past for fear of destroying himself and time-locked by the craft of his neutral counterpart, Magus has set in motion a plan to awaken a younger version of himself from the Warlock of the past. The older Magus succeded in his plan to birth a younger Magus to carry out his will in the past. This Magus, like his Warlock counterpart is limited with his lack of knowledge in his art. He was given a slight advantage through information fed him from his future self but that advantage is shared with Warlock. Magus' conquest was momentarily derailed by his detection of a cosmic beacon that lead to a confrontation with Nathan La Belle. |
