Known Identity: Blackagar Boltagon Codename: Black Bolt Race: Inhuman (Homo Imperfectus) Earth-616 Counterpart: Black Bolt Age: 32 Affiliation: The People of Attilan Base of Operations: Attilan Power(s): Black Bolt is able to manipulate electron energy as the result of a genetic mutation created when he was exposed to mutagenic Terrigan Mists while still in embryo. However due to the genetic mutation that allows him to harness the electron energy being found near the speech center of his brain, whenever Black Bolt speaks it creates a quasi-sonic shockwave with great destructive potential. At full power the shockwave is believed to be equivalent in force to a nuclear weapons detonation but this has yet to be tested due to the infrequency with which he uses this ability. When Black Bolt was a child, he was given a suit that allowed him to harness his ability to manipulate electron energy through a fork-shaped antenna that rests on the brow of the suit. This antenna is linked to the speech center of his brain allowing him to control an uknown particle that allows him to manipulate the electron energy for the desired effect. Superior Specimen: Like all of his race, Black Bolt's physical conditioning is above that of a normal human through a mixture of their natural genetics and rigorous trainings that his people undertake to pass the Testing. While Black Bolt was never required to undertake the Testing due to his introduction to the Terrigan Mists in embryo, he still underwent the daily exercise and training as part of his schooling as is the case with all children of Attilan. Black Bolt's strength and physical attributes are superior even amongst other Inhumans as a result of how the Terrigan Mist interacted with him while he was still developing in his mother's womb. Physical Enhancement: By directing the electron energy into his own body, Black Bolt can further enhance his physical prowess. In this manner he can enhance his speed and strength. Enhancing his strength from it's regular potential, where he is able to lift about 1 ton to where he can lift roughly 60 tons of weight. The Master Blow: By channeling all of the available energy into a single arm and release it in a single powerful punch. However, the use of this attack exhausts his ability to harness his powers and leaves him greatly weakend as a result. Concussive Bursts: Through projecting the unknown particles outward through his arms, he can create potent blasts of concussive force. These bursts are roughly about twice the strength of an enhanced punch, though nowhere near the power of his Master Blow. Electon Field: He can create a field of highly active electrons around his body that is able to deflect an object the mass of an MX Missle moving at it's maximum speed. He has also been to create such fields on a scale that allows them to be traveled upon. Though this process of creating such travesable fields seems to tax him greatly. In addition, he can uses these fields jam or deactivate electrical devices. Anti-Gravity: Black Bolt is able to create a field of anti-gravitons around his body that allow him to defy gravity for flight and protect him while traveling through the atmosphere. Through creating a jet of highly agitated particles and electrons, he has been shown to reach speeds of 1000 miles or greater. Low-Level Telelpathic Field: Black Bolt has exhibited some resistance to telepathy and attempts to influence his mind. He also seems to share a mild telepathic bond with his blood kin. However, his use and comprehension of this field is lacking and seems to be a by product of the particles created by his brain. Body Language Mastery: Due to his inability to speak without risking possible massive destrction, he has undergone rigourous study in learning the subtleties of body langue. In this measure, he is able to communicate with even subtle shifts of his person. The low-level telepathy he seems to generate might also aid in how others are able to understand this subtle gestures. His betrothed acts as a translator, being the most well-versed in understanding him. His knowledge of body language also allows him to read the movements of others bodies. This skill is particularly valued in combat where he can read even subtle shifts in an opponents body to read their next move. Avatar: Black Bolt Comic Art Brief History: Black Bolt was born to one of the head geneticist and the leader of the Ruling Council and the Matron of the Nursery. His mother acted as caretaker of the youth, guiding them from conception all the way to the Testing that all Attilan children must undertaker. Unbeknownst to his mother, she was pregnant with him when she was aiding in the Testing and as a result, the embryo was exposed to the Terrigen Mists by proxy. As a result, his developing body was mutated by the Mists beyond the scope of the natural abilities of his race in conjunction to the abilities he developed that many of his species develop when exposed to the Mists. He did not cry as most infants did when he was first born and it was only weeks later, in the fit of a nightmare that the infants child would wail in his first release of his quasi-sonic wave. As a result he destroyed his home and nearly killed his mother, father, and brother. After this, he was placed in a sound-proof chamber where he was tended for by the Alpha Primitives who were considered expendable due to their devolved states. As he reached adolesence, he received the energy-harnessing suit that he wears currently. It was after receiving this suit his training in learning how to manipulate his abilities began along with the rigorous physical training in martial arts and athletics that all his people go through in preparation of the Testing. Though he was not required to take the Testing as he had already been exposed to the Mists, he still underwent the training as a way of training his body and learning control to keep from accidentally crying out in pain or slumber. When he had matured enough to control his powers, he was allowed to take part in the Naming ritual. Unable to speak, Black Bolt was forced to try and convey the name he wished to take by other means. His efforts at communication would only be understood by a young red-head girl in the crowd, who would speak up to name him "Blackagar Boltagon." He had never seen her before, but this would not be the last time they would meet. After the Naming, the children were seperated and taken to be trained in their respective castes in their society. Black Bolt would be taken to learn the ways of the Royal House with his fellow Royals. It was here that he would once again find the red-head and learn who she was. Over the years, she would become something of a translator for him. They would form a close personal bond over the years, until it was revealed that they were arranged to be wed. After that, the firey red-head fled from the city of Attilan leaving Black Bolt without a translator. However, by this juncture, Black Bolt had become more skilled with his body language and was able to convey his messages more profoundly. He would eventually become skilled enough that it is said that he speaks more with a look than another man could with a million words. For a time, Black Bolt would leave his city of Attilan to see the world beyond. This did not last long however as he was soon forced to return home as a result of a revolt by the Alpha Primitives. Used mostly as slaves due to their lack of intelligence, they were dissatisfied with their role and went on to attack the Ruling Council. As a result, most of the Council was slaughtered before the rebellion was quelled. With the Ruling Council dead, Black Bolt was forced to take on the role as ruler and monarch of the Inhumans. His first official act as the king was to declare Alpha Primitives free citizens and help them build the Undercity located under Attilan. Though the Alpha Primitives are still often used as the prime work force of the people of Attilan and have often been tricked into resuming lifes as slaves, such crimes are now punishable by law in Attilan. Black Bolt has kept the city of Attilan and her people from discovery by the rest of the world and has taken many steps in attempting to advance the culture to more modern ideals he's learned from his time away.
