The Church of the Father and the Mother: A relatively new, spiritual movement in Lovecraft County, the Church of the Father and the Mother centers around the worship of sea and the healing power of water. Baptism and water rituals are common place and the movement has gained a particularly strong following in places such as Innsmouth and Arkham where opened minded and desperate people find solace and understanding within the Idolizers of the Father and the Mother. Believing that all life came from the Ocean and that all life will end there, followers of the Father and the Mother are deeply pacifistic in most cases. However rumors of potential murders and sacrifices made in the name of the Father and the Mother, mysterious figures who are worshiped by the church as representatives of the Sea, linger though local authorities have made no arrests nor appear to have any active warrants on any church members.
