However only Batman Mythos and Bludhaven Mythos cannon characters will be accepted at this time. HOWEVER we will take into consideration DCU characters if you can provide an extremely good reason why they would be in Gotham for more then a year. Original characters are welcome. However there are a few things you should consider. 1. Following in the same vain as the Nolan Batman Trilogy characters, both cannon and original, should be made to be more realistic and less super powered. To this end we are allowing players to alter cannon character’s in order to fit the feel of the chat. Example: Ra’s al Ghul’s true identity being kept secret in order to appear immortal rather then utilizing Lazarus Pits like in the comics. 2. Try to keep your characters reasonable. In traditional Batman Mythology he is rarely faced with truly super-human opponents. Gotham is riddled with the poor and weak who are preyed upon by the wealthy and corrupt, or in some cases the insane. In most cases his opponents tend to be clever, insane or down right brutal opponents as opposed to those who rely purely on powers, though it does happen such as in the case of Poison Ivy, Killer Croc or Mr. Freeze. Examples: Poison Ivy’s limited control over plants and the capacity to use poisons taken from them. Solomn Grundy’s apparent undead state of being and his inability to ever truly touch the Earth. 3. The position of Batman is currently locked. This will be unlocked in the future for persons interested. 4. Cannon Caps; A player may only have 5 cannon characters at this time. If a cannon character is inactive for over 1 month it will be considered fair game for other players. - Most of you guys probably know the basic set up with rules. But for formalities, here they are. Chat Rules - 1. Do not argue with the Administration or the friendly folks at Gotham Public Services. We reserve the right to refuse service to unruly players. 2. Do not bring OOC issues into the chat. That is to say do not bring your fight from another chat into Gotham City or your spat with someone OOC into Gotham City. If you do you may be warned or you may be refused service by the friendly folks at Gotham Public Services. 3. OOC, RP and Respect. Please be respectful of each other. Some people come here to rp, some people come here to OOC chat. There is no reason to shun one for the other. If there is a problem with OOC interfering with RP, please let the Administrator *PM Administrator* or the friendly folks at Gotham Public Services *PM Gotham Public Services* know. 4. Profanity and Explicit Material is all part of the R rating. Swearing is fine however try to keep it to a moderate level at its height. Likewise if your character is about to get laid and you feel it absolutely necessary to role play it out take it to PM or to a Private Messenger Service. 5. The Rules are subject to change when problems arise and the Administration is required to make snap decisions. Be aware. RP Rules - 1. Do not Mode. This is the big one. The mother of free form role playing rules. Do not call hits on your opponents, do not magically dodge or fall out of the way of every attack, do not use OOC information that your character would have no way of knowing and do not teleport 204209183 Wakawaka Fighters into Gotham. * Clarification - No amount of Wakawaka fighters may be teleported into Gotham. Not 1. Not 249209248208240. Not even 42. 2. Respect the Posting Order. 3. If your character is going to do something rather large, like over throw a large portion of the Gotham Underworld, please pm the Administrator or the friendly folks at Gotham Public Services before doing it. We need to know what is going on in Gotham City with major plots so we can adjust accordingly. 4. Please have a profile within 1 month of registering your characters with the information required for your application on it. Specifically the history of your character, particularly if it has been altered from cannon in order to fit into the chat setting. This is to avoid any confusion or communication problems between staff and players.
