Please include a Brief History: Rowan was born and raised in Savannah, his family's roots going back to well before the Civil War. Traditionally, the men (and one woman) in his family have been cops, so it was only naturally for him to follow suit since he'd been absorbed in the culture since he was born. But he had other interests when he was a kid - dragons and faeries and vampires and other mythical, mystical creatures. He grew up dreaming of magic and places he could never dream of visiting, his favorite bedtime stories old fairy tales. His life turned out anything but, however. After seven years of marriage his wife divorced him and took their kids with her to Taiwan, where she had gotten a job. He couldn't take care of them as a cop, but the decision to not fight it tore him apart. Afterwards he delved into his police work, becoming a top notch detective. Then a few years ago he was working a case and some of the evidence didn't add up. Everything pointed to something... otherworldly. Eventually the case was closed, but his old passions had been renewed. He began filling his time working on cold cases involving supposed mystical underpinnings, becoming obsessed with discovering the truth of whether or not there really are magical entities around them. Written off as cracked by most of his colleagues, he has had a rotating cast of partners that often ask to be transfered to a more sane person.
