AGE: 163 years
GENDER: Female
HAIR:
It's a joke around the court for those who aren't immediate family or intimate friends that her true hair and tail color are a mystery. No one is certain as to the real color because it's been bleached through alchemy to accept another fake color or so it's said. Even when she sleeps the magic sustains itself through the mingling of alchemy and arcana.

Ash mauve, most unusual and a rarity; glow as she taps into her gifts

Unpaired

Main City of Felidai

ENEMIES: (To Be Determined by Plot), A cabal within Felidai society that believes a Chaldean is not necessary

OCCUPATION: Alchemist Magi, The Chaldean
TRAINING:
Alchemy, chemistry, botany, archery and magical defense
TOOLS: Alchemy resources, spell books for magic, scrolls, writs, runes, seals, wards, and a staff (Anachitis) made from one of the oldest trees in the world given to the Felidai by the dryad within after a storm broke a branch off. It has been passed down to the strongest Alchemist Magi upon the death of the predecessor Chaldean, she inherited it from her father though it has been kept a secret for the most part.

LANGUAGES SPOKEN: The original Felidai dialect, language of arcana though she no longer needs to chant, trained by the academy of magic wielders and the like.

RELIGION: Ayzebel as a practitioner of arcana believes in the observation of spiritual elements, such as dryads, nymphs, elemental beings, and the sort. She has a firm understanding of the natural forces and how respect of certain resources keeps their availability plentiful rather than spurning the entities that provide them. There's a relationship between animated organisms like herbal things and the arcane products such as fire, spirit, aether, etc.

Accepting fate, i now live two lives.
Ayzebel wears an ornate, gold gilded, burgundy mask to hide that hides her face while she's engaged in her office as The Chaldean "Aranui Reihana", another reason for her constant change of hair and tail color, so as to lessen the stigma of her presence off duty (though because The Chaldean manipulates her appearance, it's become something of a fashion trend in society to have Magi adjust the coloration of hair, tails, and skin tones).

Only her family, closest friends, and old tutors know the real face and the name of The Chaldean because the highest rank of Magi are the teachers who voted then tested her abilities for the position.

They understand the tremendous amount of pressure resting on the shoulders of a unmatched, female Chaldean. It's a heavier burden for a woman than a man because society still has a misguided belief the men should be the strongest magical wielder. Yet, every once in a while, a woman surpasses their capabilities.

The previous Chaldean wore a royal blue mask, all Chaldean's wear a mask.

confidence, courage, dignity, and strength to endure.
Playful, mischievous, strong willed. It requires extensive mental training in order to master the blending of the two types of talents she shows a keen grasp of. Though she is intuitive and capable of strategist, she is still a woman bullied by her protective older brother and as such without a partner because of it. Their mother is at a loss of what to do with them because while they're both mature adults, they still maintain petty little disagreements at times which make her think they're children instead.

Alchemists are masters of deception of varying levels, while Ayzebel experienced the training to make use of the skill (to help the Whole accept the services Alchemist provide), she doesn't often use it unless she's playing a prank on friends and family. As The Chaldean, she's suppose to be a role model and not a trouble maker, her magical potency and mastery of the two provide her with a way to genuinely help those who come to her without resorting to trickery (mind over matter, placebos).

She finds the role as The Chaldean a hefty burden she shoulders as best she can, though she sometimes wishes to have just been another Alchemist Magi because of the gender oppression she experiences at times in her role. Ayzebel has a tender heart, but the conditional training has kept her from revealing it to those outside her immediate family (brother, mother, best friend). There are times she feels as if the monarchy is testing her abilities to see if she truly can replace her father in the extensive roles of The Chaldean.

That she has to always be on her best behavior and act with a high sense of esteem and confidence while 'Aranui Reihana' in court and in her office is a constant drain on her because she misses the days of being Ayzebel, just the girl with the annoying big brother.

Her playful side is squashed by duty and obligation with very little time to just be herself, usually only behind closed doors. She hides behind a mask of pleasantry, always displaying a gentile exterior to offset the impression some people have because of her gender sitting in such a high position. Such as thinking she’s a conniving woman trying to overstep herself. Since she cares so much, she tries her best to accept the catty remarks occasionally slipped her way in court or in passing as she wears the mask of The Chaldean. Ayzebel does not want to dishonor The Chaldean prestige or her father who was a favored Chaldean before her and loved by the people.

Some political opposition is garnered by the affinity of the population towards The Chaldean, those politicians believe the role should be abolished because it threatens the monarchy with the impressive power bred into a Chaldean - the highest nobility fear corruption will cause a Chaldean to try and usurp the monarch’s crown.

They do not have a firm understanding of the fealty a Chaldean declares for the ruler of the Felidai and the extent they go to. Ayzebel’s father suffered from a trap set to kill The Chaldean at the behest of the nobility trying to undermine the position. His death was recorded as an accident. She has her suspicions, her mother’s worries, and despite it, continues to serve as the next Chaldean following in her father’s footsteps, or as he was known, Chaldean ‘Henare Phasael’.

Following in the footsteps of those before me.
Ayzebel inherited a natural inclination towards the skills necessary to perform Alchemy with an ease akin to her father, who was the previous Chaldean. Through both parents she has inherited the ability to use magic - together the two sides permit her to mingle the potential of each talent to create magical items used in sorcery, such as the large crystal setting atop her staff as a focus or storage of arcana over a longer period of time for a future cast. The higher the skill, the larger a crystal to wield.

Alchemist Magi are useful to help defend the Felidai against magical attacks; they can infuse physical items with spells that are active or passive depending on the circumstances. There are offensive Alchemist Magi, however Ayzebel is more of a defensive magus than anything else. Her brother wouldn't have it any other way. Her brother is a slightly lesser Alchemist Magi with an offensive angle to his abilities, stronger than most, but not quite as strong in wielding of arcana as Ayzebel.

Her finesse and expertise allow her to implement spells without a chant, a skill set known to the highest rank of Alchemist Magi and The Chaldean - thus her inclination for defensive rather than offensive arcana placed her in the seat her father occupied before his demise; it's believed he died in an accident, but rather, it was murder.

She has a strong talent in defensive capabilities and disinclination to aggressive acts, but will, for the sake of the Felidai, strike out if the benefits outweigh the consequences, such as debilitating a growing aggressor before the situation escalates to a point that threatens the Felidai, should the Felidai ruler declare it necessary. The Chaldean is always ready to sacrifice herself or himself for the sake of the Whole.

Of felidai magical castes.
CHALDEAN: The highest Alchemist Magi serves as this particular rank, it is the single strongest individual with the capability to think of the Whole rather than the One. Chaldean must be willing to sacrifice themselves for the good of the people or royal family when necessary. They must set aside their aversion to offensive practices if the monarch demands it. Their immense potential to wield dual arcana is subjugated by their ingrained inclination towards defensive performances.

All Chaldean follow the tradition of holding a 'public name' for the protection of them and their family/friends.

This is only overruled by the ruling monarch's decree which gives the Chaldean permission (and strips the seal on their power to wield it aggressively) to channel the potency of their gift into an offensive force only used in dire need. Doing so is essentially sacrificing the Chaldean as it goes against everything a Chaldean is. It is extremely rare to require a Chaldean go against their inclination, forcing them into it, and rarer still the individual survives the traumatic repercussions of unleashing their power aggressively.

The Chaldean becomes a weapon for the monarchy and if the individual perishes, another takes the place if available, otherwise the role is left vacant until such time another is born with the capabilities to fulfill the position.

Think of a Chaldean as but one of many royal servants for a monarchy, they are like the Royal Physician and Royal Magus because their talents stretch out across Alchemy (Botany and Chemistry merge to make this) and Arcana. They have the ability to dedicate their power to healing ailments the royal family and elected individuals through these means. Everything they do is reserved for the royal family or tasks requiring enormous amounts of power or a strong potency in a particular arcana. Chaldean can alleviate droughts, manipulating the elements or requesting the services of elements to stabilize an environment without serious consequences. Primarily in service for their fortifications of defensive installments within the monarch's residences, treasures, and other locations determined vital.

A Chaldean inherits the staff Anachitis - see above in tools for description/use. It always returns even if the Chaldean does not. Some believe when a Chaldean dies, their arcana is taken to bolster the staff's abilities, ensuring it returns to the royal treasury and helps select the next Chaldean, leaving the remaining power in the crystal as a reserve for the Chaldean successor (in a time of need).

MAGI: The defensive Alchemist Magi serve as physicians for the nobility and general society depending on their skill and position. Offensive Alchemist Magi are personal guards for nobility and royalty depending on their skill and position. Some who are strong, but of a lower caste in society, serve as guards throughout Felidai populations to protect people.

Magus without Alchemist abilities/training are assistants to them with the same stipulations regarding skill levels and caste rank in society.

Because the Felidai have taken to using magic, it has become easily acceptable to practice openly. Everyone seems to have at least a minimal capability of manifesting skill in the simplest base magic, or the vast majority, and generations have cultivated these Magus born wielders of prestige.

A Magus-born individual to a lower caste, but strong talent can gain favor and ascend through successful usages of their ability, marriage, or financial/political support.
