Slider
- Age: 21, 19 when first arrived on Tatooine.
- Real Name: Unknown. Occasionally refers to himself as "The Slider" instead of just "Slider."
- Known Alias: Too many to count.
- Height: 5' 11''
- Build: Slender, but muscular.
- Hair Color: Changes weekly.
- Race: Human
- Genetic Type: Coordinator, marked as a possible newtype due to his high level of intuitive capacity.
- Profession: Thief, mechanic, smuggler, genius, mercenary, bounty hunter, adventurer, (mad scientist and private detective through various secret alternate identities).
- Known Affiliations: Palindrome Crew(Engineer, second in command-Hawk Squadron, later Krayt Squadron), GWAM (Test pilot, engineer, currently the flight commander for the "Krayt Squadron"), "Relleck's Group"(Senior Analyst), Saroyan Resistance(Smuggler). Generally, his own.
- Skills: A capable marksman and trained in hand-to-hand-combat, Slider rarely showcases his physical abilities and prefers to rely on his mental strength to get him out of trouble. His real skills involve his mechanical genius and wide knowledge base. Slider classifies himself as a polymath, and tries to remain up-to-date with a number of different technological advancements in many different fields. His years of inter-dimensional travel have exposed him to a large variety of different types of technology, and it is this experience which allows him to easily analyze and manipulate other devices he finds along his travels. As a thief, he is quite a talented escape artist and hacker, though he has a taste for the fanciful over practical when it comes to his heists, favoring elaborate traps that are more akin to an illusionist than a professional criminal. He's shown an ability to project or otherwise alter his voice and has experience with false-face synthflesh masks.
Bio: Not much is known about Slider, save for his entrance onto the criminal scene only five years ago involved crashing a ship into the middle of Mos Eisley, followed by getting into a fistfight with a trio of super-powered terrorists. He's got something of a reputation in the core worlds, but after crash landing on Tatooine, he's found out that his reputation doesn't count for much out in the rim. What else is known about him only comes in bits and pieces: he is a Coordinator, and comes from a world where his people are genetically enhanced before birth. This gives him almost superhuman reflexes, advanced strength and stamina, and a genius level intellect- -traits which he notes that most of his people tend to squander. At age 14 Slider invented a device that bridges the gap between dimensions through use of a wormhole, and began to travel from reality to reality. Though he's never come out and said it, it's likely that he has no way to get back to his original dimension, and now sees Tatooine and the resulting dimension as his home. He also claims to be an inter-dimensional expert, "galactic-class thief," and to have stolen an entire planet before. Slider has a number of odd habits, including his tendency to sit crouched on the edge of a chair when deep in thought. In recent years he's gone from extravagant adventurer to keeping a more low profile as the chief engineer and troublemaker on board the Palindrome, but as of the Palindrome's destruction,, his future remains in flux. Slider enjoys playing the part of the trickster, and often comes off as completely insane or childlike- -however, under pressure he tends to display a keen analytic mind. It's unknown to even his closest friends and associates how much of his madcap brilliance is an act and how much of it is precisely calculated. It was later revealed that Slider originally hailed from a home universe which was in the throes of the start of a full inter-system war against the genetically engineered Coordinators and the planet-bound Naturals. Slider, a coordinator prodigy and college graduate at 14, was working on an equation for antigravity when he discovered how to bridge the walls between alternate dimensions, safely. A month later, he was forced to use his device to flee to a parallel Earth in order to avoid dying when his colony came under attack. Shortly thereafter he found the Wristcomp and, on C's advice, adopted the title of "The Slider" and began traveling from world to world, occasionally finding space travel and hopping from planet to planet. While he's advanced his knowledge of 'sliding' considerably since then, he has yet to figure out a way to return to his home dimension, and now regards Tatooine as the closest thing he has to a home.
Weapons and Equipment:
- Mark VI Wristcomp Connection Gear: A small computer Slider always wears on his right forearm and hand. The 'Wristcomp' resembles, in it's dormant state, a small inlay on the top of his forearm, almost built into his hand, made of a strip of red metal with a line of checkered blue lights running down the middle. On the top of the flat of his right hand, there is a pentagonal shape with the same color scheme that has no physical tether to the part on the forearm, but is very connected. The Wristcomp possesses a powerful AI known as or "C" or "Sii" (Pronounced "SEE") which contains a library on hundreds of different subjects, and the ability to project sophistcated holographic interfaces through the Wristcomp's onboard Connection Gear. This device allows a man of Slider's considerable talents to interface with other networks or computers instantly, as well as project several holographic control schemes and up to a dozen transpart holographic screens for him to keep track of his various experiments. The wristcomp can also change it's shape through an enhanced nanoholo polymer matrix, allowing the inconspicious and tiny looking device to materialize and 'unfold' into a grappling hook, lockpicking equipment, or even low-powered blasters out- -all out of 'thin air.' The AI "C" seems to have complete control over the Wristcomp, and often keeps to himself, though he will occasionally pipe up to converse with Slider when Slider is bored or asking for advice. According to C, Slider found the wristcomp on the body of a dead man, and C immediately recognized Slider as a worthy successor to the miraculous piece of equipment. In recent years, Slider has modified C's AI program to allow him to project a 'passive slice' to nearby scanning equipment, which prevents most bounty hunters from getting a clean read on Slider's biological details, (and in some cases, face), instead feeding the scanner nothing but incomprehensible gibberish and projecting smiley faces everywhere.
- Dialtron 9000 "Dialbot" Comm Device:
While working for the mysterious and shady "Foundation," Slider came in contact with a number of Non-Biological Entities that had attempted to attack the Route of the Ages. While experimenting with the unique radiation that these creatures gave off, Slider and Omega Kiyoshi inadvertantly created a new living being from the remains of Slider's comm. Slider adopted the foul-tempered little robot out of a sense of amusement. Later, he jettisoned it out of an airlock. The Dialbot is currently galavanting around the universe of it's own accord, having wacky adventures! -
The "Bloodberry" Beam Katana: Wishing to have a weapon capable of harming powerful enemies like the Wraith or the Sith, Slider took Jedi Knight Cassan Fistwick's lightsaber design and modified it using conventional "beam saber" technology from mobile suits. Rather than the lightsaber's magnetic energy loop focused through a specialized crystal, the Beam Katana uses Minovsky particle technology in order to construct a cutting beam between two points. This gives the energy blade both an edge and some weight, allowing Slider, with his coordinator reflexes, to use it without cutting himself open. Unfortunately, Slider has no real swordsmanship training!
Peacekeeper Pulse Pistol: A standard Peacekeeper sidearm, only slightly more versatile than a hold-out blaster. Due to the Peacekeeper assault teams that have attacked him in the past, Slider found it easy to obtain these guns, along with a lot of ammunition- -plus, he knows it angers the Peacekeepers to use their own weapons against them. This is Slider's most used sidearm, and is rarely seen without it. A
Custom Design Laser Pistol "The Cosmo Dragoon": A high-powered laser pistol designed specifically to be able to pierce through shields and armor. It is known as a "Warrior's Weapon." Slider is currently in the testing phase of the gun, having given the prototype model to Haweke Karbn in regards to the latter's promotion from Captain to Major in the New Republic Navy. He later fashioned a 'Test Type' with an improved ammunition capacity for himself, and three "Production Run" models which have been given to Saroya Asher, Garron Taiyou, and (the other) Haweke Karbn. After Garron's death, the fourth Cosmo Dragoon pistol fell into the hands of Zarr Karbn. - Magic Mystery Gun: In an attempt to better study the concept of 'magic,' Slider developed a modified Peacekeeper Pulse Pistol designed with a materia slot hidden inside of it. The gun's working is still something of a mystery to even Slider himself; he's so far been able to acertain that it can fire standard energy bolts, magic spells, and even energy bolts that cast magical spells!
-
Custom 941 Jericho: This .41 calibur pistol came into Slider's possession when he found himself up against a number of creatures which his usual energy weapons had little effect on. Cheap and efficient, Slider keeps the slugthrower hidden, usually under his jacket. After discovering that bounty hunter Grant Relevart was known for using twin 941s, Slider seemed to drop the pistol out of fear of being a 'copycat.'
Vehicles and Ships:
- The Palindrome bulk cargo freighter:
Originally a scrapped, Lohengrin-class cruise ship that Slider found in a junk head on Tatooine, Slider spent months fixing it up, using his questionably-obtained funds to outfit it with the most advanced technology that he could both obtain and invent. For a sizable amount of money, Slider sold the ship to Haweke Karbn, who would use it as a base of operations for his cargo running and smuggling. Slider later returned to the Palindrome, and set up a home there. After Haweke Karbn's "Green-shirt" twin was reported KIA in a battle against semi-Imperial forces run by his own daughter, Slider took over as the Palindrome's chief engineer, now under the command of Saroya Asher. When Haweke's "Green-Twin" reappeared as a brainwashed Imperial Agent, Slider crashed the Palindrome into the enemy ship, vaporizing both vehicles in a massive explosion. -

- The Palindrome Evolution bulk cargo freighter: After the destruction of the original Palindrome, Telana Daiko and Omega Kyoshi built a new ship based on the original's specifications. After both Haweke and Saroya found the ship too much of a painful reminder of their pasts to resume command, the Captaincy of the new Palindrome reluctantly fell to Slider, who now lives alone on the massive, 80 meter long star cruiser. After extensive modifications, the new Lohengrin-class ship is faster, and more advanced than the original, and is mostly run by Slider's AI friend "C" and an assortment of up to 30 specialized "PAL-droids." Slider has also constructed a unique subspace compression field around the main hanger bay, which allows him to store up to 900% more volume than would be normally allowed in a ship of that size, and has made extensive modifications to it's stardrive systems, utilizing knowledge gained from an Ancient datacrystal, and the expertise of the enigmatic time traveler known only as "The Doctor." At the present, these modifications are limited to a Class .5 Hyperdrive and an Interdimensional Translocation (Sliding) system.

The "Metal Siren+" New Type Valkyrie: Originally an Advanced Variable Fighter that he and Haweke Karbn had been testing for use against the Goa'uld, Slider has outfitted the custom-built design with an extra gunpod and extended the wings in order to add a secondary hardpoint for missiles. He's also upgraded the computer system, and has tailored it to his personal reflexes and tastes; The Metal Siren+ is now outfitted with a coordinator-use-only Operating system, as and such it is unlikely many other people would be able to operate it. In addition, he's built several advanced FAST-Packs for added weaponry, or intergalactic travel. He later added an in-built hetch drive system salvaged from a Peacekeeper Prowler, which gives him limited interstellar capabilities. During the battle against corrupt Dread Conglomerate Forces, Slider attempted to sacrifice the Metal Siren+ in order to destroy the SHIVA System-Killer weapon. However, due to a last minute act by Elusa Harkonnen, Slider miscalculated and the fighter was uselessly destroyed inside a hyperspace vortex, leaving Slider stranded, and grumpy. He is currently looking for a replacement fighter.
The GAT-X105+ Multi-Purpose Mobile Suit "Strike": Needing a workable mobile suit for combat operations, Slider built the Strike based on an old mobile suit that belonged to Toxic Marsh. Built using state of the art technology, it's equipped with advanced, phase-shift armor, a sophisticated G.U.N.D.A.M. Mobile Suit Operating System (modified so that only Slider himself can operate it), and is capable of utilizing a wide variety of variable, mission-specific "Striker-Packs." -
