Distinguishing features: Bears a lot of old scars on his face, neck, chest and head. On his right side, there's a large noticeable patch of hair missing. He usually keeps this covered up to avoid questioning.

Cream tunic and matching pants with worn brown boots, and an earth-brown outer robe. One Lightsaber, amber in color. Walking-stick with a lion's head carved into the head.

History:
Born on Coruscant, he was brought up under Imperial rule and propaganda. Was never known to be Force Sensitive, and at the age of 16, he joined the Imperial Forces as a storm trooper. A bout two years later while on leave on his home planet he married a young woman called Sarah, and impregnated her. Alas, he went back to war again, and fought for another three years against the rebels.

Then, in a battle, he was checking a dead body of a comerade, and found a dead-man's mine (That is, its set off when the pressure on the trigger is released). He was wounded badly, and nearly died if the locals had not saved his life. But even though they saved his life, they couldnt' save his sight.

The trauma and his own will to live somehow made him slightly force-sensitive, although he was still weak in the force. Also, he rejected the Empire, for they had left him to die there, in pain with a blasted face, and wounded brain. He came under the tutelage of supposed Jedi Master Shok Pindaran, who was, unfortunately, a fake, and Gil suffered for this mis-training.

Finally, he came to Tattoine as a Jedi Healer, but quickly found his mis-guided skills to nearly be the end of him, were it not for local, TRUE Jedi who saved his life. He was attacked by Archon Naeblis and badly wounded, and while unconcious, turned to the Dark Side. Soon though, Gil was forced to fight the shadow-Jedi Allen Darksaber, and the threat to his friend forced the kind jedi to break free again. Then an unknown dark jedi (now known to be Oner) poisoned him later that evening and Gil was forced to go into a meditative Hibernation state until James Aries managed to force the last of the poison out of Gils battered, weak body. For a while, he recovered in his apartment building and is very wary when he must go out, and for now, the Padawan hangs around other Jedis until he can fight and defend himself, for he would rather be dead than Turned...

Archon Naeblis then put a 50 000 credit bounty on Gil's head, for what reason nobody knows, but the Sith follower wanted him alive and preferably unharmed. Probably for the worst. Gil's fake teacher and friend Shok Pinardran(sp) followed them, but died in a foolhardy and unsuccessful attempt to free Gil-An Lasel from the bounty hunter Tom Stryker. However, Tom was not intending to turn the padawan over to Archon, but instead lured Archon into a Force Void and killed him, then releasing Gil. After this, Gil became the assistant and padawan to James Aries, soon becoming a close friend of the Jedi Master and moved in with him on his farm, often tending to house and helping to feed and tend the other padawan's wounds and such as they learned to heal on their own. His learning grew better, and he was fairly good at detecting others, although he was only average with the Lightsaber. This is likely due to the fact he started at the age of 28. He is also teaching himself to use a Speeder with the Force to guide him.

James also asked Gil to be the godfather of his children, and the blind jedi delightfully accepted.

Having been gone for several years, Gil-An Lasel has returned to Tatooine, now a full Jedi Master, specializing in Healing and Meditation, with experience of years under his belt and a Scholar of the Jedi Temple. Picture coming soon (I hope!)
