Born on Naboo but brought up with his father's family on Coruscant, Barclay Nicodemus Ramsey was raised, as many members of his family have been, to be a Watcher, a member of a secret society which would find and train the Slayer, while keeping watch over humanity and fighting the unending war against the vampires, the demons, and the forces of darkness.

Originally school friends with Cassan Fistwick and Alysin, an early hunting expedition in his teens left him a pariah among the richer families of the Watchers. After his graduation from the Watcher's Council of Coruscant, Barclay returned to his homeworld of Naboo as an assistant Professor in the capital city for a year before he was sent to the planet Yorick. There he trained a young girl named Morgan as the Slayer, until Yorick civilization collapsed due to an undead plague caused by a mysterious virus. Trapped on this planet, Morgan and Barclay rebuilt civilization for nearly a year before even the strength of the Slayer wasn't enough to keep back the ghoulish horde. Thrust into a world of hard choices and barbarian savagery, Barclay was forced to grow from a guide and general against the forces of darkness to a trusted and capable soldier in his own right. While Morgan sacrificed herself in a disasterous attempt to discover a cure to the virus, Barclay lead the last vestige of humanity to the Republic-sanctioned quaranteen zone. Only he and nineteen others escaped the planet.

Several years later during an attack of vicious Death Eaters across the Outer Rim, the Council of Watchers assigned Barclay to investigate. Initially unable to reconnect to civilization after living in a post-apocalyptic nightmare, Barlcay appeared as a foppish and useless buerocrat, but in time his hard-edge tactics returned. As Barclay begin to stay in Mos Eisley, and gather friends and allies, he found it more and more difficult to re-adjust from the massive trauma he encountered on Yorick.

Barclay quickly found that his well-honed survival skills were a good match for Tattooine's harsh and uncompromising environment, and has somehow found himself on the periphery of almost every major mystical upheaval and attack.  Barclay has faced down terrifying demons, ancient vampires, eldritch goddesses and wicked witches, and has the wounds to show for it, even going so far as to lose his eye by way of a Death Eater's wand. 

After participating in several rituals designed to channel power of the First Light of the Cosmos, Barclay found his natural affinity for the mystic arts renewed, although his responsibilities to the Guild kept him from growing into anything more than a hedge wizard.  With the further encouragement from a shamanstic Irraka and a half-fae witch (and, to Barclay's annoyance, his longtime friend and Jedi Master Cassan Fistwick) Barclay has slowly grown into his talent as a sorcerer and is now considered as much of an expert on the mystic arts as he is on arcane knowledge..   

Working alongside everyone from the local MEPD, to Republic Sheriffs, and extensively with the Kukai Foundation, Barclay is currently an instructor and chief librarian of the Lotus Garden, as well as the Guildmaster at the Mos Eisley Hunter's Guild, which he originally founded alongside Vincent Darkholm and Keatin Katale.  Barclay has spent much of his time in Mos Eisley building up the Hunter's Guild, and acting as the city's exasperated expert on all things supernatural.
