New Republic News 6:05pm, January 25, 2006 [Edit] [Delete] | With the apparent attacks by former GWAM Leader, and represenative of Tatooine, questions have arrisen weither or not it would be healthy to send aid to Tatooine when one of the most influencial citizens attacked his own men in a fit of criminal maddness.
Inlight of these events, the aid package seems to have hit a stale mate and some in the Senate question, now, the uses of the Aid. Perhaps it was originally asked for to aid Mr. Barret's own personal ends. Now listed as a Terrorist, Mr. Barret has been added to the New Republic list of criminals.
"I knew something was wrong when Mr. Barret charged into my room before his confrence with a silver spike threatening bodily harm if I didn't continue my support of the bill. I intended to go through with it for the humane reason of supporting a war torn system however Mr. Barret seemed more interested in forcing me to stay on the bill toward his own ends. I can see now, after these actions, that it was likely that the man was more intent on filling his own pockets with the aid and not helping the people of Tatooine" - Senator von Myr'tor.
Although he has not removed his support for the bill he now request that a New Republic commission be created to oversee the uses of the money and the condition of the planet.
