| New Republic begins Negotiations with Hutts |

A hut Delegation arrived at Coruscant today to begin talks about aquiring a star system from the Hutts Control. The Tanos system is located just off the Corellian Run near the Tatoo system. Though Tanos is not located within hutt space it is still under Hutt Control, dating back to Jabba the Hutt who ran Tatooine and sevearl minor star systems around it before his Death. since then Tanos has been ruled by Najjar the Hutt. Najjar is hoping that by making agreements for the New Republic to purchase the Tanos system and perhaps start other treaties, that he may rise and become a Major Player in Hutt Politics. Although the Hutts are crimelords and are seen in a very low light by upstanding members of the galaxy, the New Republic Acknowledges the fact that the hutts have been controling portions of the rim for generations before them, dating back to the earlyest days of the Old Republic. |

Negotiations with the Hutt delegation wrapped up today, with agreement to sell the system to the New republic. Further talks will be held later conserning the possibilty of selling or trading New Republic space near huttspace to the huts, or further excahnges between the two for strategically important sectors. Further News states that Admiral Steve Parks will be given command of the New Republic fleet, already construnction ships are building the bases that will serve the fleet for Anti-Smuggler, Piracy and as an early warning station for unkown dangers from that region of space. |
