Something that didn´t happen here. You have the right to express your opinions people in many other systems do not. You have the right to keep your weapons (for now) people in many other systems do not. Given Democracy is only good in writing as is any other form of government. For some reason I feel that´s better than being totally enslaved by the more powerful. No government, no laws, no peace. Someone puts a bullet in your brain to collect $5, big whoop. Jello Biafra, the lead singer of the Dead Kennedys, was put on trial for his lyrics on the album "Frankenchrist" and attacked by Tipper Gore´s censorship party. The US won´t kill you. They just drain you of your income, your way of life, then take your house if you still can´t afford it. If that still doesn´t pay for how bad you´ve "Damaged" society by what you´ve said, then they top off whatever you can´t cover with a few years in jail. But the cops raided his house in the middle of the night, he got kicked out of his band, and now he does political speeches at colleges. He brings a jar with him that says, "Please help me. Have we ever used any tactics that terrorists have been using against us for years. You know that we warned and showed film of the A bomb tests to the japanese before we dropped the first one and they still didn´t surrender. We have backed down from terrorists attacks for years. They run a boat into the side of the USS Cole and innocent people using the navy to gain an education or freedom from a situation that they couldn´t get out of, died. For what reason? Because we have different ideals. Yes, we influence the world using both military and economic actions to get things our way. But what country was it that rebuilt europe after the first world war? or the second for that matter? We have given money, food, support, and a number of other things to countries since we left our isolationist ways. But all we hear is some people say thanks and then turn around talk shit about us. We gave the weapons and trained the Taliban to rid there country of Russian invaders and then they turn those same things against us. I am not saying this country is a bunch of saints. But there is one point that I disagree with the great George Carlon on, if you do not vote you have no right to bitch. You can elect your state and federal representitives. They are the ones who make the laws. They are the ones who send us to war. The president can bomb a country for 90 days on his own but after that he needs congressional approval. I am a member of the united states naval service. Until you get your ass into a 10 to 20 year old submarine or on a surface ship, also a known as a reef waiting to happen to us sub guys, you have no clue what it takes to do our jobs. We leave our families for 6 or months a year for very little pay and very little appreciation. Go ask one of the men standing at the Vietnam Memorial if he thinks those men died for nothing? Go ask the man holding his wife crying over his brother´s grave at Arlington whether he died for nothing. You go tell those men and women who miss there childs birth or first words. Who get a scant letter telling of these things that what they do is attrocious. This is a shitty and we know it. But somebody has to do it or we would not have the freedom you live under. The government is not perfect but if it was then we would be Eden eating the golden fruit now wouldn´t we. Also I have the right to refuse to follow an order I find unlawful under the uniformed code of military justice. And yes we do put out proganda about what we do but you have to be completely mindless to think that those other countries don´t do the same. How is that every building in Iraq has women and children in it? If you can answer that then you are a better man then I. If you want to know the truth; I love my family more then my country and that is why I do what I do. Though I may never see combat and pray I don´t, I am ready to defend them so they can live how they want. They wish I was home with them and most of the time I wish I was there too but they understand what I choose to do and support me as best they can. So if you think that I am going to tell you to get out, I won´t. I want you to stay and continue to speak your mind because every once in awhile a good idea nugget plops out with the shit and if you believe it and are willing to put the time into it you can bring that to the public and let them see that nice shiny piece o nugget.  Time to rip this apart.
