So I have been kicking the old soup can around inside my head, and had a few ideas, something to do as a two week-monthlong event exploring either the future or an alternate history of doom. Or if its well liked enough and people dont mind splitting their time we could make a whole new chat in the PJJ systems for it.

CFC: 74 ABY
Fifty Years has passed for our heroes ((its 24 ABY now for those who don't keep track)) and even their children are starting to age and retire. It is time for a new generation, the great grandchildren find themselves at the front lines, but what wars are there left to fight after such a long time, and do they possess the strength their grandparents once had?

CFC: The Dark Times
It is a time of darkness. The Goa'uld Thel succeeded in his attack, forcing the New Republic to retreat and capturing the Route of Ages, blocking the Federation from reinforcements. Conflict within the Republic forces them to draw inward, leaving Thel free to make his empire. And then Kaleton returned to exact his vengance on Tatooine. unable to form a fleet large enough to fight him off, Tatooine is ravaged as nukes rain from the sky striking mos eisly particular hard. when its over the city is nothing more than a giant pit and hell mouth resting at its center, around it stretching for hundreds of miles is a smooth glass desert, aptly named Kaeltons Fury. Survivors of Tatooines bombing gather in whats left of the clean parts of the desert building a fortress city as the last stronghold of civilization on a ravaged planet. Finding a ripe hunting ground around Hoth the Borg are also rising.
Heroes remain, some still ready to fight to the end, but will it be enough?

So ideas comments such?
 Hold old is old?

Do it. Work out the details and maybe we can slide it through here if enough people want to push along plots that have gone stale from not being able to be on enough.

I like the alternate timeline idea (but I'm sure Det knew I would). I'm game, dependent of course on my online time for my participation. Some nights I can chat for a while, some nights I'm not around a good wireless network, or I'm busy. It's hard for me to make predictions.

I'll try to get in on this. I've been kind of sort of talking about this kind of "let's do something different for a little while" thing for a long time, so I hope it's successful enough to do semi regularly without disrupting anything ongoing.

There could be a number of ways we could do the Dark Times one, considering how many reality-jumpers we have. But personally I like the timeskip one the best.

However, I have to disagree with Mel--I think that two weeks is too short. People with more hectic schedules might only be able to get in once or twice. That being said, anything over a month is too long. I would say we just pick a month, and keep to that.

So, what month do we want to do this on? And do we want to have any kind of framing device?
 Hm...

I think it would be awesome also. Though I too agree with Zonnish. Two weeks would be way too short. A month is a better idea.

Looks like someone has beaten me to the punch again... I have had plans like the AU one for a while, most are in place I just haven't ever pulled the trigger since I figured everyone would not want to play along.... still could be interesting to play alternate versions of my usual char's

SO there is interest. awesome. the issue about time is one of the reasons why I thought about the possibilities of adding a new chat for it. so it wouldn't interfere with regular play, but that of course requires people willing to deal with another chat room. otherwise a timed event can draw some issues. two weeks can be quite a bit for those who are around a lot, but only a day or two for those who arnt. im somewhere in the middle so I could get a few good days out of it.

But it seems like a month is generally agreed on, now which one would everyone want to do and when shoudl we do it? do we want to start on the first of a month, which would probly be may next, or we could start in the middle of april and give us a couple weeks to set up

Well I'm not opposed to the dual-chat thing per-say, except that in history is usually never works. I'd say either May or June--April might be too soon. It is, after all, tomorrow.

Well. If not another chat does anybody want to write up a small narrative and officially jump ahead to such an such a date?

It wouldn't take us as long to plot what happens in a narrative point of view as it would for us to act it out.

Yeah, do we want to just intro this, or have a framing device? ...Like, when they had their fortune read in The Simpsons and then it flashed forwards?

Yes. Yes we are. Or it could be just Slider's fault. OR we don't need to do a framing device at all.

Since there's major interest in this, I've modified the poll accordingly. Please vote!

Would a framing device be like the baddie I have waiting in the wings.... (no not Verxog the Destructor, his ticket is still a few trillion numbers off from being his turn)((and as a sidenote he will prolly get oneshotted when he DOES take his turn)). What this character can do is create a point of dimensional convergence that basically for a time pulls our "AU" universe and superimposes it upon our own. Thereby making it impossible for our dimensional jumpers from just hopping back to "Tinaverse Prime" because whilst the point of convergence is in existence the AU IS "Tinaverse prime"

Best part is that to restore proper the proper order of things just destroy the PoDC and the universe snaps back to normal..... however the tricky part is that unless we have characters who KNOW about it they probably wouldn't know to destroy it, so we would have to bring a couple Tinaverse Prime chars along... aka those who KNOW what the universe should be like.

That's one possibility. I was thinking a Vengeance Demon from Buffy. It has a built-in reset (Destroy the pendant), all it takes is one unsuspecting character to wish, in a fit of pique, for something drastic to change. Plus, that one character--ONE character, whoever makes the wish-gets to survive to see the changes. Survive longer than that, though... I like this one as opposed to having a host of Tinaverse Prime characters show up, because if that's what we do, what's the point? One character, though, out of the whole all confused, and just as likely to be in danger as the rest of the players.

So I've been wracking my brain thinking of a 'divergence point' that would give us the scenario layed out in the Dark Times, considering what Det put into the write up was more or less "what if everything went wrong forever" *LOL*

Here's an example, "What if Haweke Karbn (Blue) never ascended?" For those who don't remember, back during the final fight with Edge Koenig, he took a superlaser to the dome and the psychoframe built into his mobile suit overloaded--he got all glowy and went to go chill out with the StarGate style Ancients for a few years.

It doesn't change a LOT, considering he wasn't 'supposed' to interfere with anything from the lower realms--but Thel had captured Zon Huntreas and was torturing him to death, and Haweke Blue there got all glowy and put "go rescue Zon" messages into various peoples heads, as well as helped Zon psychic-like to resist the torture. Thus Zon was saved, and Zon then goes on to rally the fleets to help defeat Thel's forces when he makes his attack on both Tatooine, Lunix, and Tanos.

Later Haweke blue comes back as a Starfleet officer, and is the guy who kills Kaelton. So with "I wish Haweke had just died instead of ascending" both scenarios play out: Thel tortures Zon to death, and Kaelton gets away.

Of course, this doesn't tie in the Hoth and the Borg, or keeps Thel away from Korriban where he was eaten by Jathix Eressa anyhow.

Anyone else have any 'divergence point' wishes?

I feel inclined to suggest a divergence wherein Kaelton won the Conglomerate civil war. This would, however, change Det's proposed timeline considerably, since that happened before Thel's rampage. However, another idea is that after the Conglomerate ruled Tatooine for a while, Thel showed up and forced Kaelton to retreat from the system. Kaelton being Kaelton, he nuked the crap out of the planet as he left.

Technically my original plan for my Idea went all the way back to some of the early events.... I think it was the Battle of the Midnight Massacre, or whatever that REALLY early Haweke battle was vs the Forces of Paptimus Contrast... where in the Alternate timline we get sucked into Haweke Zigs when he shoulda zagged and gets offed by a random blast. Seriously people how much different would our verse be if Haweke was not there to help bail our assees out of ALL that has happened since then?

Isn't the StarTrek Timeline scheduled to have a temporal hiccup next month?

An alternative would be the introduction of a near canon war time event such as the Vong or something like that.

My timeline is just a rough basis made up more as an example or suggestion rather than this is how its gonna be its more than open for interpretation.

we could even go far back enough that the rebellion failed and Palpatine still leads an empire with an Old/New Vader, but I think the best change would be something we were part of, one of our rps, early could be good, but I would like something that was still pretty fresh in everyone mind.

As for framing I was making most of this up while watching the Vegas episode of Stargate Atlantis, where there is no actual frame or connection to our universe, just hey look alty world. although that did tie in at the end with the message, it was overall a story with no real meaning. But with this chat we got that pendant thingy of Zon's, Slider could be peeking around, or I think theres another inter-dimentional traveler person, Rando I think?

The Vengeance demon bust the pendant thing to me is perfect because it both ties into the main rp, AND has a 100% foolproof reset button.

Personally I'm against going back too far in rp, but only because a can't remember half the stuff I did in college that well...*cough*

*chuckles* Fair enough. I'd be pretty agreeable to any of the scenarios put forth here, but I do really like the idea that Kaelton won his little civil war. But all of the ideas put forth so far are agreeable to me.

Two interdemensional characters really, but Rae doesn't do much besides show up, act(emphasis on act, he's really quite terrible at it) all wise and sage like... irritate the hell out of most people, including Kris, and then wander back off somewhere else

I think a "Rebellion got its ass kicked and the Empire has bigger tits than Cher" AU would be interesting to apply to "present day" with our characters having to live in that universe instead. Either way, I still see Lucas as a mercenary Daniel Jackson type. Alex Meika would have become a Force trained Bakuran hunter for the empire, and the CG is.... well, he's still there considering he died before Lando got ahold of the Falcon.

Either way, whatever we do, I'm still game for the game. I miss it.
