We'll just thrown drunken idiots at them and hope for a plot?   Det 9:08am, July 25, 2003 [Edit] [Delete] Plots are one thing, so is being able to have plots without arguing. which means lot of cooperation, which isnt one fo the best thigns that goes around here. it always seems that someone is arguing against someone else about an rp related situation, such as weapons, technology, so on. So I think the first big step is to reach some point of cooperation, where we can end most of the bickering, and agree on some of the points and issues. With less fighting means a generally more hospititable atmosphere and more actual rping. Persoally with plots I feel I dont need one to rp, I get by without doing alot of activity with plots and storyline, instead working on my character as one goes about day to day life. probly sounds boring to most but it works well for me. And sometimes I get into a plot or situation, it adds a good chapter to the ongoing story of my character, which I think many miss. Alot of people see characters as just a name to do things as. They dont devlop their characters much, deciding to go for quanity over quality. Worse still is those who have a new char for every new day, when their char now not only lacks whole histories and personalitys but are just cannon fodder, ment to try to make their days happyer by getting someone blown up for the fun of it, the whole random drunk attacker sorta thing. But those are just my feelings and thoughts. My biggest greif with Plots is how they are all combat related, you must kill everything and stop the big Ninja Monkey from droping the nuke into the antimater toilet that will destroy the universe if it blew up. Combat is ok once in a while. But to center plot after plot on it tends to all become the same. The idea of Rolepalying is to make and build a character, not make up some guy and go blow off other peoples heads. Combat is a story driver, a little addition, not a good story itself. If I were to try a story then I would go with somthing like a long forgotten planet could hold data from the times of the Old Jedi order, and now the jedi of this time should find it in order to advance thier own cause. then the jedi must find the planet, go to it, find the temple and the information it holds. now throw in a pirate whos base of operations is in the same area, or even a dark jedi who wants the same information, and can throw a couple minions at them once in a while, I think you have a good plot forming. and combat will just spice it up at times, not dominate. Since he appears to be the reliant share of sim attempts as of late. All the supposed major ones anyways. Everything else just fades as if someone pushed it off to the side and declared it irrelivent. but that's just me... We have a war, we have wicked shit going on in the desert, we have faction upon faction running about, and no one wants to do anything!!! Tried to get some info out on radio free mars about stuff in the desert and that didn't seem too popular. If you guys have any more ideas, let's see em. I've tried to think up some new things, but right now, I have one hell of a writers block and all that's left is a continuation of the Thanatos sim, but it's way too soon for that.
