Cantina Trip to Atlantic City???

With apologies to the West Coasters, Atlantic City seems to be the destination for the great Cantina meet. That is unless East Coasters decide they still prefer Vegas. Now, due to my not yet having a job in the summer, when I do get one, I won't be able to request off that first week to go on a trip. Plus a possible internship at the studio here.. So, with apologies, again, the trip dates are mostly restricted to May 15th-22nd or May 22-29th. I can get a nice hotel at a reduced fee, of about 200 for the entire week that will accomodate between six and eight people, technically.. Hotels and their restrictions eh? Two bedrooms, a pullout couch etc. Now, I know this is really in advance, but in order for me to lock up the hotel, i need to do it a bit in advance. PLus, for all the working class out there who need to request off. So, its up to you all, sign below with either vegas or Atlantic City and your prefered date. Thanks. Thusly, the plan is pretty much as follows. I can one of these hotels. Hotel 1 Hotel 2 Hotel 3 Hotel 4 Those two actually "being in" Atlantic city, 12 miles each from the AC airport. Where as this one actually "allows" for more, 2 people more to stay in the room. and is 10 miles from the airport? So there really isn't much distance problems there. Hotel 5 Now, for Vegas. Hotel 6 this is actually the one for vegas I was looking at initially, Hotel 7 then theres this one with three bedrooms Hotel 8 Now, travel plans change depending on where we go. Vegas, I will most likely be renting a car or bussing it around. In AC, on the other hand, I will definitely have a car if anyone needs to be picked up within the area to get anywhere. There's also the idea that we arrange for this at a comic-con...add to the surreality of the event. ANd kind of appropriate if we all meet up for the Great Cantina Meet and there's people dressed like 7 foot tall Death Knights and and Batman strutting around us, y'know?

Uncle Detde 8:15am, January 02, 2009 [Edit] [Delete]	I cant even find flights going to Atlantic city, best I can do is Philidelphia, and that's looking at 300-700 depending on how quickly one could reserve. of course its probably just about the same amount to get to Las Vegas from the east coast so unfortunately someones gotta handle airfare, and I would probably have to pass on Atlantic City, right now I have to pay for damaging my moms car (crappy snow weather 1,200 bucks) and buy an engine for my kia which is around another 400. I should be lucky to be saving money up again by may. What we really need is a nice middle ground in the us, why does the central states have to be so empty and boring? My transportation options are such that I may end up straight hitch hiking to said meet. would much rather do so to vegas than to ac. HOWEVER, Given that we're not looking at doing it until May, I'm still hopefull that I'll be able to snarf up enough cash to get out to AC, if that's were we end up deciding on. I'm super stoked about this, no matter where it ends up happening. And Ken, kudos on finding good hotel deals! Det, I'd totally be down for Dodge City. A middle ground really is what we need.

We've got an extra bed, a couch, a loveseat and plenty of floor space, so if you guys wanted, we could meet at the house until everyone shows up, then head down to the hotel, meet up with Sarah and Mel, then head to AC. Just a thought, though she says you'd have to bring food and clean up after yourselves, we're hosts, not maids! shakes fist But you're welcome here, hell you could camp out in the back yard if it's nice enough. Just a thought. And that's if we go with AC. edit, of course if Sarah and mel want Ken to pick them up on his way north, you're welcome to stay here too, just until everyone shows up, then SHORE RUN! misses the ocean Side message for smokers, if it's nice out, please smoke outside, if it's rainy, we do have a smoking room, with an air filter thingy, so two at a time, we've got a big back patio, but it tends to flood a bit, and there's an overhang over the front door...that is if we decide to meet up here before driving down to AC... The market sucked asfault for the company. Vegas is a 3-4 hour drive through absolute NOTHING --whereing I think aliens pick up drivers that are half asleep. There is no way I can get to Atlantic City. Plus, I can bring Ray, becuase he knows Vegas well. And....... dude, c'mon. IT'S VEGAS! Do you need a reason to go? so, in turn, I vote for Las Vegas. We should /so/ stay at the Luxor. Chris Angel is there. :D

Ergo, they have drasticly lowered the prices of their rooms. Plus, many of them offer packages. If you wanted to stay a week, you'd be able to get it for cheap. That still doesn't mean the food at the Paris won't be any less expensive. But it is damned good. VEGAS, BABY!
