*A holographic image of a tall, robed elf appears on the screen. This is being broadcasted throughout the entire galaxy.*

Greetings, people and creatures from Coruscant to Tatooine, from Yavin to Coriella. I come to you with a proposal.

I have monitored the way of life in this galaxy for a very, very long time now. I have also noticed, that your way of life is full of violence, war, and even dictatorship. People martyring, dying willingly in service of the military, for what purpose? Why must people die to make other people's lives better? Why not save and value each indiviual life in this god forsaken galaxy.

.. I plan to fix this.

I plan on creating a utopia, in other words, a perfect world/place. Of course everyone who is anyone is welcome. There will be no more violence. No more war. No more killing or stealing. No more disasters. Just a perfect world.

The entrance to this world, is on the most unlikeliest of planets. On the lands of Tatooine, 200 miles north of Mos Eisley, there lies a portal. And within this portal is the world of my utopia.

No, this isn't a trick. Why else would I go through so much trouble and put so much effort into doing this..?

My proposal stands...

Okay, this will either be a cool string of IC posts, or, a failure.

((Here we go...))

((Ahem.))

------------------------------

Duke Novalear Starfield: *A shimmering hologram appears, trying its best to express the magesty of the Duke. He stands, tall with his head held high, directly behind his Golden Lion Throne...well, no lion yet, but its nifty and golden! He wears his finest red magestic suit, cape, and helmet. His gloved hands move about as he speaks, and he speaks with the hight of bravado, with only all-but-too-blatant inflections and vocal techniques of facism. This message is obviously also being played across the Duchy as much as it is being put up as a response to Talithan on the main comm...board...thing. He starts with a slow, deep breath and exhale, and like we all learned in history class about Facist leaders of the 20s and 30s, he begins his speach slowly, and moves into a fury or boisterous rhetoric.*

A utopia...all we need be to live in paradise is give up our world...come to yours...and we will live perfectly in harmony? Forever?

You wish...for us to give up our land, our strength, our will, and bow to yours?

Never!

We, the people of Starfield, have struggled long and hard in order to make our way in this galaxy; we are not about to simply hand it over to an Elf! Yes, we know all about you, we know your are responsible for the attacks upon the planet, and we percieve you a threat. My people! My people will rise, when the time has come, and we will defend our gallant kingdom! We will stop you and your foul plans! Hail! Hail Zeon! *pause* Did I just say....? Shit.*hologram suddenly vanishes*

((Um...strike that last bit from the IC record. He never said that, the part about Zeon...too whimsical and out of character for a serious ruler, well, one who ISN't Zeon... but I found it too funny to delete. We'll just say he ended the comm without the whole Zeon thing, or he just shouted "Hail Starfield!" or some such. Uh...yeah... "The person who is responsible for this has been sacked." ))

------------------------------

Admiral Zon Huntreas: *Zon appears, in both viewscreen and a modified hologram form for transmissions over holonet. He's sitting in his chair in his ready room on the Explorer, as evidenced by the moving, streaking stars in the background window, and the models of the previous Explorer-class starships, along with the U.S.S. Calzone in the background. He's wearing his normal Adimiral's uniform, which looks pretty nifty and elegant, though seems to have a strange fascination for primary colors...but that's just Starfleet.* *he smiles slightly, but his face grows grim, with a spec of whimsey*

Well, this is certainly...interesting. A utopia on Tattooine. I can't say I saw that one coming. Fascinating. Which is to say, unexpected. Though there being a giant magic portal on Tatooine? Not...quite...as unexpected. But still, I suppose, somewhat odd.

The real question is the definition of a Utopia. What do you mean? There are rumors, and many have said that you are responsible for attacks on the planet Tattooine. You've used otherworldly powers to kidnap and harass the population of Mos Eisley, for example. Armies have attacked cities bearing your name. This does not sound like enlightened attitudes to me, but at the moment, where's no hard facts, so this line of reasoning shall be dropped by myself at this moment.

Also, to Commander Koduo, while Starfleet does not have, at the moment, the ability to "quarenteen" the Tatoo Twin-Solar system, I personally think that it is nowhere near neccisarry to go through such drastic measures. Nor, I believe, would the people of Tatooine and their respective governments be excited about that prospect. However, I do believe that an in-depth investigation of this Talithan is undoubtly called for.

Just remember: A utopia is not made by its rulers....or in this case, evidently, its ruler. A utopia becomes such a well-meaning society through hard work done by the people of the society. Many would say that planets in the Federation, such as Earth, would be Utopias. I don't say this to brag, but to offer an example. Earth was not created into this fashion through the use of magic portals. It took centuries of work, hard work, both morally and physically, by its inhabitants. Not through a single person's strength of will, but by the infusion of new ideas and concepts, through the work of everyone working for everyone else.

A Utopia is only a Utopia when the people inside the society have the knowledge and maturity to handle world peace and respect the wishes of others at all times.

A utopia is not a place, its a way of life! You mention that you plan to create a new world devoid of violence, strife, and suffering. Tis a noble goal, that much is true. But, how? How can you alone do this, without having people evolve out of violence and want this type of life? How exactly do you plan to "save and value" every individual life while you plan to involve "anyone thats everyone"? And what exactly does that statement mean, for that matter...?

What if, in your perfect world, someone violently disagrees with another? You can not force a Utopia upon people. People need to be responsible enough to not use violence to solve their problems, not have a magestic, tall, robed voice from on high yell "Do that and I'll bloody spank you!" If your only cause for having a Utopia is your presence, Talithan, than history, not I, but history, dictates time and time again that you are a facist dictator.

I would heavily recommend that you, Talithan, since you obviously command at least some formidable force of technological advancement, give us far more information on your world. We need a good deal to go on outside of your single, mysterious message. Holo-recordings, statistics...basic information of your governing process, your economy? Again, Starfleet does not wish to directly interfere in the governing processes of Tatooine, but to that end, I would suggest exercising extreme caution in investigating this individual and his world.

------------------------------

The Slider: *He comes into view sitting in the cockpit of his ship, which is blatantly obvious due to some of the controls being seen. Judging by the lighting, he's not only in the cockpit, but the ship is in outer space. He looks pensive, watching the screen. He's unshaven, and wearing a gummy flannel bathrobe, with a "Property of the Cantina" coffee mug in his hand, his hair tousled. He's obviously just woken up, especially judging by the familiar fog of sleep in his eyes.*

*sip*

...

*yawn*

*His eyes narrow, as he looks contemplative, slerping his coffee. Then, his expression shifts to that of a man very confused. His eyes flicker around the screen, and the cockpit rappidly growing wide as dishplates. Then his face, in an instant, becomes beet red with embarressment.*

Um...sorry...meant to hit record, not, uh... transmit.

The...button and all...I just, um, hit the wrong...uh...

*he quickly laughs nerviously ("hahahahahahahheheheheha!"), rubs the back of his head, and cuts the comm with a quick and violent chop of his left hand to the control pannel just to the left of the screen.*

So the pawns of chaos would dare open a portal to lure the innocent into their hell pit... The Imperium of Man will not stand for this...

Surely you do not think I would provoke such attacks? The idea was at first to help the people realize what a utopia is, but instead the mindless souls of thousands see this is as a threat, and rebelled against me.

Of course I would not stand for this, so I fight back. I meant no harm to the people of the galaxy, it was in pure defense.

A Utopia is a perfect place.

The Romulan Star Empire has certain military and diplomatic interests in this galaxy, interests we don't want disturbed. But we can all be reasonable here Mr. Talithan and we will negotiate with you and you can discuss this utopia you have planned for this galaxy. However, if you choose to be......less than cooperative, then we will have no choice but to join the position of the Imperials take you out.
