A: Should non-registered chars be banned from killing registered chars?
B: Should killing be banned period unless both parties agree to it?

[Delete] | A: No. For there are no rules on characters, tech and abilities. Thus is no admin approval required, giving the registered handle nothing more than a star. Plus the registered chars could use it to have a field day on the unregistered chars.
B: No, that is lame. Few will agree to it, plus that makes a set outcome. Should people agree to it? Yes. But to be forced to? No. Also, it allows them to do something incredably stupid. If Joe Schmoe pissed on Enforcer - 03's foot, what are his chances of survival? Should the Enforcer just pat him on the back because Joe Schmoe doesn't want to die?

[Delete] | Blah no and no, I know some places have those rules but they are stupid, it gives people excuses to do stupid crap and get away with it, if you wanna be in a fight deal with the consequinces, if you dont like the fighitng run.
Most everyone tries to portray their characters as big bad I can take on anyone chars, so if you think your char is one of em you should be able to back that up rp wise, if not dont be gettin into fights, its not that hard to avoid em

[Delete] | Heh well you know its easy if you dont do anything stupid and dont get in anyones way and piss em off, I managed to stay out of any really major fights for several years, I still had one or two every 5 or 6 months but there were plenty of times where I never had to fight, or even worry about a fight. |

Seriously, who the hell cares if a non registered char kills a registered char? Its RP! stop trying to get OOC rules to save your little ass, Jason.
Oh, and the banning of the dead?
What are you, fucking stupid? SOrry for the harsh language, but come on! That'd take out the chats populous in a week! In the end it'd be part of the Poker Club and one of Eric's "I have a char? I have a char!" chars.
Seriously, these ideas are the most wacked out thing I've seen since I saw that bear ride a little tricycle over that clown. |

[Delete] | Alright, let's see how I can rip this thing apart... Well, first off, I think that killing is good for ya. Gives people a sense of vengeance, opens up new ideas for an RP, etc... And I mean, if we were all registered, Mike would end up having shattered fingertips from typing out all that crap. So, I think motion number 1 has been vetoed. Killing is still allowed. And as for number two... NO! Nobody wants to die dude! If we did, we'd all pull some mass character suicide! I mean, if somebody's being a snotty little turd IC, what's to stop your character from at least slapping him around? Nothing...that's right! Nothing!!! Of course, my opinion doesn't matter much... I hardly spend any time IC... But still. I felt the desire to flex my typing muscles. Anywho, back to bed and whatnot.

[Delete] | *Pouts* Mikeys not the only one who registers chars ya know, sure hes probly the only one who remembers the e-mail addy and password, but I register alot of people when they come and ask me to in the tina. As for the whole killing thing, I dont think its a good thing I think it usually causes more fights than not, but I dont think making a consentual thing is a good idea because then the stupid people have a chance to piss off other people and then cant be killed because he wont concent to a character death. Im really happy rping my characters without having to be in constant fights or situations of death, it gets a little slow and sometimes a tad bit boring but I think it allows for more character devleopment than just going into the tina and shooting it up everynight. Oh well though I already listed my opinions heh ill be quiet now so other people can continue saying how th is idea is bad. |

other than that errr yeah....no and no
registered vs non registered is a joke. ok yeah I have a prob with brand new insta chars blipping into apearance with every mod con in exsisitance and trying to wipe out long standing chars people have put a lot of thought, effort and time into, but thats another story and can be done without a thought for registering.
death is a sticky one that no rule could EVER cover. I dont think someone minding their own business should have to lose a char just cause someone else is having a bad day and decides to up and kill em. nor should anyone be forced to be a part of anything. other than that, if you get yourself into it, then you get yourself out or you die. common sense, you go around pissing people off and sticking your nose in things its prolly gonna have an effect on your life expectancy!
and that would be my two cents plus some, keep the change. |

Assuming I did this because I truly felt passionate about it, holding bakc the argument till now thus assuming I waited until I was affected. I don't see why I should be insulted so. I simply wanted to know how people felt, is there a problem in that?? I don't agree with either of those ideas, nor do I agree with the way things are going right now. Rather, I think a combination of all three would create the best roleplay environment. It would take careful thought and planning to make sure no one can take advantage of the rules to either A: avoid death time and time again, or B: cause death unto others again and again and again. I don't exactly know which way Kit sides, but yes, I think it is kind of crap when you put your heart into building up a character for years and years and years, and then within a month someone else creates a god character who ends up causing the death of your character. Besides, I think all of you are confused on the agreeing-to-death rule. It pretty much states the general rule on character deaths in a little 'article' in itself, makes it stand out more, and it is thus enforced more. You can't just go around and do stupid things and then BS your way out of it because you won't agree to the death of your character. At any time, if it is *CLEAR* it was YOUR FAULT that your character is in the situation that he is in, or if it is clearly impossible to realistically and logically escape from the situation, or even if you simply have no legitimate points/facts that you can use to back up your route of escape. In such a case where you lack these 3 points, the situation should be brought unto an administrator for whom to decide the outcome. Thanks for the input all, and please, hold back on the insults.

you happen to live in DreamLand (NOT Area 51, Cru). Shit happens.
Deal with it. Hell, Mike killed my very first IC char in under 45
seconds. Didn't bitch (much =D), just made a new char and plotted
revenge on Mike. [Delete that last comment 0:-) )
Second of all, everytime I've seen you get in a fight IC Jason, you
either run worse than a girl or you whine that the person who blew
your char's head off in 3 seconds was moding by using an automatic
assualt rifle. Note there was not a single insult in that post, merely

It's odd but we seem to go through this arguement in cycles. I think we should cut jason some slack....*Uses Zon as a human shield* I can't honestly say I remember it, but I do remember others, having suggested things like this to older chatters who dised such suggestions. Zon probably remembers some moments where I or others did it to him to...
Jason, find a different arguement. Something stupidly drastic. Something like, well take part of one of Det's posts for example. (No offense ment Det...) "Most everyone tries to portray their characters as big bad I can take on anyone chars," of course this is only part of his full post but it works just fine. And an arguement to this thought could be something like, "Has it occured to anyone that the reason why the the arguement works so well is because you're pissed that you can't get a quick kill off of other Role players? And don't really give a shit about the plots evolving around each character?" Get it? ..Or how bout this. The reason why role playing seems to be dying down is becaues everyone expects a quickly had sim, but they aren't on all the time because of school and actually having a life so they don't have time to build up these well made sims.
Anyways, this post is long enought. And this is means No to both your ideas for Rules. Though I do think in the end a Kill is between the role players directly involved. There doesn't need to be a rule for it.
