Charles Barret 11:38pm, January 23, 2006 [Edit] [Delete] | *Earlier today, Toxic would have given his statement to the Senate. Here's how it went*
*Toxic is in the senate, not in his suit, but in his stealth uniform*
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Senate, I want to first thank you for giving me audience in these trying times. My original plan was to come here in formal attire to argue my case for an independent Tatooine. Well it's commonly known that a man in my position is prone to having his plans changed suddenly. I've grown to learn that since I've come to this planet, the risk on Tatooine's destiny has risen greatly and now I come to you in my fatigues that I wore in a recent war on the planet, prepared for anything. I feel that with time Tatooine will become a strong independent nation, somewhere that people will want to move to, and it will have a boom in economy. I think that the people of Tatooine can make that happen on their own, but they do need some help. I propose that the Galactic Senate give financial aid and supplies to the current militias on the planet, and to the cities of Tatooine to help it grow. I do not suggest though that the aid turns into a plan to govern the planet. I feel that an outside force coming in to control the planet will lead to a large war against whoever it is. It will only cause more problems, and more bloodshed in an already suffering planet. Thank you. |
| A word of Caution. |
Lord Sapien 12:15am, January 24, 2006 [Edit] [Delete] | *Senator Sapien's pod would rise next to Toxic's after finishing his speech.*
"The Chair recognizes the Senator of Nockmarr."
"As head of the Finance Committee I endorse this aid, however I would follow it with a word of caution. It is not our business to involve ourselves in the affairs of nuetral planets. They have come to us seeking finacial aid which I believe we should give, however I firmly believe that the matter should be reviewed at a later date to affirm weither or not the resources being given are being appropriately used."
"Likewise this bill chartered will not just allow support to be given to Tatooine itself, but to all nuetral systems that have come across hard times and require aid. Therefore again..a word of caution. Let us be giving without crossing into the lines of interference. Let us ben kind without becoming overbearing. Sometimes a planet must decide between being independant and being dependant. If Tatooine can not defend herself then it must be willing to allow for direct New Republic involvement if they wish to continue collecting aid."
