Y-Wing Pilot 3:34pm, October 29, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] | *As ships from the New Republic continue to stream into the system and take up defensive positions that literally seem to encase the entire planet, the various faction leaders and news stations on and off Tatooine would recieve the following written transmission*
Greetings, citizens of Tatooine. While this may look like an attempt at a takeover, please do not be alarmed by the New Republic's sudden appearance. We support the movement for a citizens vote on what kind of government they want, and we are here to make sure that no one else imposes the population of Tatooine with their own rule.
With the recent attack on Mos Eisley that indiscriminately killed both Imperial personnell and Civilian's, and with the imminent coming of armed conflict over the planet, the New Republic has made the call to safeguard the citizens of Tatooine. Understand that this overt show of force is meant as a deterrent against strikes on populated areas, and we are not here as combatants, but rather as protectors, as the people of Tatooine have suffered more than enough. However, should there be an attack against any civilian targets, we will respond with full military force, as we expect any democratic government would. Thank you, and may the Force be with the people of Tatooine.
*The local news channels carry footage of the Republic ships moving to their various positions, though no Republic official has made a direct statement about the move yet and all diplomatic channels are silent for the moment*
The local news channels also carry citizens opinions.
Sullustian Pilot: "I'm glad to see the New Republic isn't turning a blind eye to this place anymore! Maybe now we can all finally live in peace."
Human homeless man: "Ahhh, what does the Republic care about this place, you know as soon as it's over they'll just leave and it'll go back to the way it always was."
Chiss bartender: "This is indeed a smart move on the Republic's part, though one has to wonder if a force this large is so necessary against a threat that may never materialize. It makes the citizens nervous."
Twi'lek Moisture Farmer: "Oh, I absolutely believe the Republic should step in here. We have so many problems with crime and local corruption, it's about time a governing body with real strength came and did something about it! With the giant mess of power hungry, extra-galactic factions in the galaxy these days, it's nice to see our own homegrown Republic is still looking out for us."
Human Mayor's assistant of Mos Eisley: "The Republic would have done well to inform us of this before arriving on the planet. That way, we could have coordinated our own local milita's into action!"
(Feel free to post your own citizens reactions, too) |

FALCON X-0N 3:49pm, October 29, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] | Coordinator: "I think it was probably neccessary, the Republic has a full military force, while we're still only a militia."
Ex-Zeon Spacenoid: "I wonder if they've heard of Contolism?"

Admiral Parks appears on screen now that the fleets pretty well settled in.
"Citizens of Tatooine, I am Admiral Steve Parks, commander of the fleet taking up positons around your planet. I wish to assure you, and all of those who have intrests in Tatooine that this is a purely defensive operation. We are consered that there might be another attack on certain outposts on the planet that may lead to more civillian casulties. We have no desire to take the planet for ourselves, nor do we wish to see it fall under the control of any other faction. Our goal here is twofold, prevent anymore strikes upon the planetary surface and to provide Tatooine with a chance at independance, to deside where its destiny goes."
"We are reamining neutral in all factionary matters as we have no formal alliances with any of the members involved, however should any agressive moves be made towards the planet or my ships we will respond to defend ourselves. We encurage the other factions to find a peaceful resolution to all of this, and we are willing to facillitate comunications between groups in an effort to avoid further conflict, war is never a good way to settle dispute."
"To the varous beings of Tatooine, the New Republic makes itself at your service, we will not stop any of your ships or attempt to enforce any laws, but we will render asisstance if you come under attack, we have first rate medical crews ready to suppliment the local hospitals if called upon, and the New Republic Engineering Corp is also on standby to help rebuild or reinforce any buildings." |

Anchorhead Militia Member 5:48am, October 30, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] | Well I reckon we can use the help in space right now, since the Tragolites left us with nothing to defend ourselves with. But I send a call to arms to the Citizens of Tatooine. If a single NR trooper sets foot on Tatooine soil, They will be met with opposition. |
| Hey! |
Mos Eisley Militia Member 2:58am, October 31, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] | We fully support the coming of the New Republic.
The Tragolite isn't our government and they shouldn't sway who we as a majority vote for and against being on Tatooine!
I say that if these Anchor head militia members attack the New Republic troopers that are coming here in peace to help protect us, than our militia will attack Anchor head's militia.!
All our Civil war!
We'll solve this problem of the minority screwing over what's good for the majority once and for all! |
| So be it |
Anchorhead Militia Member 3:24am, October 31, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] | We suffered long enough under the Tragolites and the Imperials, Not to even mention the oppression the hutts shoved down our throats. The New Republics nothing new. They come here without being asked to, they'll be arrested and tried by our people. The Sovereign people of Tatooine. |
| Is that right?! |
Mos Eisley Militia Member 4:44am, October 31, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] | So happens the New Republic was asked to come here by the Imperial consulate that was bombed by an unprovoked attack! You Anchor head Militia resident wouldn't happen to be responcible for a hypocracy like would you! |
| |
Admiral Parks 4:45am, October 31, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] | While many would argue over the Sovergnty of Tatooine, we do not intend to land troops, nor do we inted to try to impose any control over the citizens. Our sole purpose is the defence of Tatooine and attempt to avoid anymore civilian casutlies in pointles faction wars.
All republic soldiers will remain off planet unless called upon for aid, as I stated we have medical and Engineering teams availiable to assist any militia or civilian that needs them. if the Anchorhead does not want the medical or engineering support they merly do not need to call upon it. |
| Ahem... |
Toxic 5:12am, October 31, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] | *Standing infront of The Death Pod (his new modified TIE-fighter) and Nike-A-Go-Go (His currently being modified Mobile Suit)*
Ahem...
I'd like all other militia's to understand that if they even think about civil war, I will personally slap the lot of 'em. The GWAM will be assisting the New Republic in it's protection of civillians as we are taking a firm stance on protecting our land. I'm sure the rest of the militia forces on Tatooine share the same feelings... seeing how that's our jobs. If not then sit on the sidelines.
*transmission ends* |
| |
Y-Wing Pilot 5:56am, October 31, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] | It should also be noted that we will not be landing troops on the surface unless a military or militant faction begins firing on civilians, at which point we will offer assistance in the form of ground troops for the local militia and law enforcement, if any. |
| So |
Anchorhead Militia Member 5:18pm, October 31, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] | So the GWAM has declared itself the planets defense force? I think you will find that the Ctizens of Anchorhead disagree. In a town gathering last night, we have declared the town of anchorhead as a State. If a Tatooine Government is solidified we will join thier union. Anyone who comes to our city to cause trouble will be dealt with as enemy combatants. An attack upon the State of Anchorhead will be viewed as an act of war against a sovereign State and we will call to the New Republic for aid against said attacks, since they have offered assistance.
*Another post follows within the hour where the mayer and now Count describes thier intentions. Those Intentions are to defend themselves as they always have against sand people and raiders, to continue with thier agricultural activities in thier hydroponic farms and to join up under an allied Tatooine Confederation or Planet-nation. * |
| People, please. |
Paptimus Contrast 9:04pm, October 31, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] | We are at a very dangerous place, for all of us. The people of every city, every militia, every family in the entire Tatoo sphere, all want the same things. Peace, Freedom, Prosperity. In order to survive these coming trials, we need to work together. All of us, united to stand against a common enemy, to work towards a common good...to build a future where everyone can be happy. |
| I see you've missed the point... |

General Kael 5:28am, November 01, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] | Citizens of Tatooine, sovereign states or disgruntled cities please, listen.
The fractured state of Tatooine, various counties and cities declaring themselves sovereign states, brings about the strong winds of independants. These freedoms, while absolutely intoxicating come at a high price, particularly during this Crisis.
At this time Tatooine does not need to fight among themselves as to whom may help who, when and why. Right now the citizens must atleast accept that they are in no way ready to defend themselves against the coming war. These words, perhaps harsh, are true. Citizens of Anchorhead, understand that by what you say if you are invaded the New Republic will be to slow to respond. The time required to drop troops AND defend against a threat from space will be so long that once they arrive the majority of your city might be destroyed, overrun or heavily damaged. And even as NR troops move in they would be slow to react concidering your apparent hostility toward any outside help that is not directly voted upon. What if your people would fire on them because of this infracture of your statement?
Tatooine does not have time to bicker amongst themselves over what land belongs to who and who has the right to defend it. If Anchorhead falls it could lead to Bestine. If Bestine and Anchorhead fall it could lead to Mos Eisley and if the three strong ports are over run then all has been lost and you find yourself living under the oppressive foot of the Nuclear powered Dread Conglomerate. Thats if you can define living in a barren wasteland poisoned by radiation while being fed half truths about the radical beliefs of the Dread Conglomerate as living.
This is absolutely true that I, Dakkon Veers Kael, was once an Imperial and have returned from retirement to represent an Imperial Remnant though I would challange any and all who would doubt my dedication to the protection and assistance to the people of Tatooine. Some question my reason for staying here on Tatooine following the strike the DC made before this Crisis occured. I have stayed for two reasons.
Firstly, it became apparent that the people of Mos Eisley needed help in rebuilding their lives by someone who wouldn't simply send a few hands and supplies but by someone who was willing to rebuild parts of the city not only once, but Twice.
Second, many of my personal come from Mos Eisley, have families here and want to be here to protect them. There is no questioning my faith to my own personal and therefore I would not abandon them to whatever devistation awaited them.
Third, the Dread Conglomerate found out there was a small Imperial Conglomerate however they did not ask us to leave, they did not send a represenative to discuss with us the terms of our stay. No, they launched an attack without provication based on the "possability" of an illegal operations which I can honestly say sounds more like an excuse to justify bombing people who have wronged them in the past then anything else. This kind of aggression is unacceptable on any front. What happens when someone in Bestine decides they want to hang an Imperial Banner outside their house? Can they expect to get nuked because they were running an illegal dishwashing ring? No, these illegal and illegitimate attacks MUST not be allowed to continue.
Toxic, your heart is there however your brains have decided they would prefer to give out to balls. Though we are all allowed to speak our minds it is highly undesirable for any individual to Tell the people of Mos Eisley what to do. Suggest what you feel do not threaten violence if they decide against what you feel is correct. Learn that lesson and I think you will be a stronger lesson.
To those citizens who will not be directly related to any possible fighting I recommend you stay inside your homes. Lock your doors, close your windows and move to the strongest, safest place in your home. Make sure you have supplies for up to two weeks, make sure you have safe drinking water. Power may cut out for long periods of time so make sure you have some manner of generator or way to hold food. Those with medical experience or battlefied experience please report to your local medical facilities where your skills may be put to good use should the worst situation occur.
Thank you, my whatever powers you believe in be on your side.

Conglomerate PR Type People 7:36pm, November 02, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] | People of Tattooine, the so-called Imperial Remnants would have you believe the Dread Conglomerate heartless conquerors, yet history has not proved this so.
General Kael describes a future with the Conglomerate acting as an opressor. Since our founding, we have fought against such things with our blood and sweat. The Conglomerate has no plans to occupy any part of Tattooine. Any action in the coming weeks will not result in any sort of Garrison by Conglomerate troops.
General Kael describes a future with Tattooine as a "barren wasteland poisoned by radiation". Only Conglomerate shipboard weapons are nuclear based and any action fought in the coming weeks will NOT be fought with nuclear weapons.
The New Republic's presence is an uneccessary complication in what could be a wholly bloodless matter if you, the people of Tattooine, can see the true Imperial Threat that attempts to masquerade as an honorable and respectable faction.
((Now then, if you're still reading this, that means you have an interest in this RP, in which case, get ready to read a bit more! My parents recently decided that paying for a second cable line was extravagent, and this means that I am limited to Library internet access for such time until i can A: convince them to restore blessed InterWeb or B: I pay for it myself and have the new service installed. Now then, for the next two weeks I will have exactly one hour perday in which to RP.... I will still participate in this, but we have to be ready to spread it out over a few days, or postpone it. personally i'd rather do the first rather than the second, but I'll leave it up to you.))
((on a different note, Hey Y-Wing. i'd like a look at the map of the system you used (not the actual troop positions, that'd be sort of cheating, but the system itself, so i can better plan my own strategy)))

Admiral Parks 10:06pm, November 02, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] |
The Dread Conglomerate might not be heartless conquerers but you do seem quite heartless. you seem to have no regards for the strike that killed many innocents, you put on sham show of finding a scapegoat for the incident, and then you plan on comming right back in and attacking again. We dont want to be part of your factions wars and gripes, but whne you allow civllians to die then someone needs to step in and protect them. Why dont you just leave Tatooine to decide who they want and dont want on the planet, if they dont want the Imperials there then they should be the ones who give the word not you |

Anonymous 11:51pm, November 02, 2005 [Edit] [Delete] | It's about time the Dread Conglamorate is treated as what they are! Terrorists who hide under the sole excuse of everyone's hate for the imperials to attack anything that gets in their way!
I say we treat them like the imperials and remove them from existance! |
