Some of the 3,000+ were enlisted men and women, and the pentagon is a legit military target. But to use airliners as missles, to put civilians directly in the line of fire is a cowardly tactic. The only thing is, we brought it on ourselves. When russia was fighting parts of the middle east during the coldwar, we decided to help the poor afghan freedom fighters defeat communism. We gave them SAM launchers, m16´s and a whole mess of shit to take down the evil communist threat. Then desert storm happened. We imposed embargo´s on their people, bombed their villages and starved them to death. Do you think they just may get angry at some point and attack? Yes it was cowardly. Yes it was low. The loss of human life is always terrible. But now, after all the teary eyed drama that´s happened, everyone´s gonna get together, support a pro-war stance, and bomb the living fuck out of whatever´s left of the middle east. More people are going to die. A whole fucking lot more then those on september 11th. So down with me and up with love and peace. I am for love and peace. I´m for the preservation of human life. I´m not a patriot and wave your fucking flag like another mindless waste. "Oh boo hoo, we lost loved ones and family! What´s that?The middle east? FUCKING NUKE THEM!" Your patriotism breeds hatred and violence that´s 20 times more devastating then the event that happened here. And if you pull the "defending our country" argument, just realize that defence would be applied here. Walking into the middle east and bombing everything is an offensive action. Pure revenge. For starters, I support the action in Afghanistan, just if I had been born over a half century earlier, I would have supported the action against Germany in Europe. I support the idea of rooting out violent radicals, and attempting to establish freedom, then trying to maintain peace. As for Iraq, Jek is aboslutely, 100% right. Bush is taking it too far. Iraq, at the most, is a regional threat. There is no solid evidence to point to him and say he´s a security risk to our nation. But once again, Jek is off. We do not intentionally target civilians. We could drop multiple dumb bombs for every ´smart´ bomb dropped. We use precision guided weapons to attempt to avoid civilian casualties. But when you look at the tonage dropped, it is impossible to avoid them complete. We could send in ground troops. But when it comes to fighting urban warfare, you put just as many, if not more people at risk. I also support the action in Desert Storm. The invasion of Kuwait, the way Saddam starved their people... The embargos prevent it from happening again. As for Afghanistan, yes it was wrong to give them support. 20/20 hind sight though. Things are more clear when a nation does not have it´s whole nuclear arsenal aimed at yours. Also, Russian was an enemy. In Vietnam, do you think the NVA built their Migs alone? But I just want to address one last one...September 11th, 2001 brought people from all around the North American Continent together to come to ground zero to help survivors. People came from Nova Scotia (god damn I mangled that spelling didn´t I?) to help people. Humanity acted out of love and good and peace for it´s fellow man. September 12th, 2001, all America banded together in blood lust. There goes that idea. Aside from my useless views about humanity (we so do not deserve to be alive), political wise there is one thing that needs to be addressed: the fact that the Bush Administration is completely ignoring the fact that we ever had anything to do with it. The fact that the US Public is ignoring the fact that, as Jek put it, we ´bought´ it. I know for a fact that my god damned US History class has absolutely no concept of addressing the underlaying causes of terrorism. And Sheriff Retard in the White House wont even attempt to comprehend it. I´ve spent the last year really and truly preeching Peace and Love, and all I found were deaf ears, and people actively opposing a Peaceful World. The "Nuke the Whales?" "Gotta nuke sum´thin" Mentality. Which leads me to my rant! [rant]Jek said how one day I realized our species is going to wipe itself out. Not true. One day, I realized how it´s probably a good idea for our species to wipe itself out. Every Pro-War, Pro-Death stance, the fact that it´s the overwhelming majority, the fact that 95% of the people I have talked to in the past year couldn´t even comprehend the idea of doing anything other than having the US BEAT THE FUCK out of the world until the world is under our thumb...I´ve lost my faith in humanity. We´re never going to be better. There has never been a time in human history where the good sentements outweighed the bad. An individual can do good for the sake of good, but we, as a species, not only do not, but we are incappable of this action. We can only hurt and kill. Great, peacefull civilizations have prospered for centuries by treating everyone else like sub-human beings that need to be killed or enslaved. We hurt our planet and it´s environment. We´re trash and Garbage with a genetic predisposition to causing pain and suffering to anyone and anything we come across. We like to think that we´ve grown more civilized throughout our existance, but we have really just gotten new, bigger ways to Kill. Every "Age" in humanity is caused when we discover a new way to make weapons(Bronze Age to the Atomic Age). And right now, the Americans have the same Thirst for Blood that the Greeks had while they sailed for Troy. [/rant] This time last year, those Nova Scotians were working alongside every race and creed at Ground Zero. This time year, we´ll probably be moving on to bomb Iran.

People support this what happened after 9/11 just like they supported Pearl Harbor. they;re both the same only the japanese hit the pacific fleet, not innocent civilians, the japs even gave warning of the attack. America has always been pig headed and trigger happy. When our country started, they fought to get the english off their backs in the revolutionary war and then again in the war of 1812 i think it was. For ever one person in the United States, there is another who will hold the exact oposite opinion, reguardless of what the starting topic was. Just like there will be a probable third person commanding the universe to follow what they somehow "know" another persons opinion will be, even if they´re completely wrong. So, Though this comment won´t end this I hope it opens some doorsways so this arguement isn´t meaningless. Oh, and while we´re in this topic we can´t forget all the other faces to this problem. The United States doesn´t just survive by waving a sword or a weapon or sorts around. The Unite States survives by a balance of economics and other issues. Just as other countries around the world hear news and express opinions of what we do we end up echoing nearly the same style of thinking here. We could not fully survive as a super power nation without relying upon neighboring nations for resources, supplies(economic trade), and political support, along with many other things. NOT EVERYONE, thinks we should bomb the shit out of Iraq. If you´re stupid enough to believe EVERYONE wants to bomb the shit out of Iraq than you obviously haven´t notice that Georg W. is following the same tactic his father did when adressing this issue. He´s going to everyone else first and trying to convience them so he can bully Congress and the UN into allowing him to go. Much like his father stationed hundreds of troops over in neighboring countries before he went to Congress & the United Nations to ask for the go ahead. I´m not saying this covers everything, and I´m not saying I´m right. But before you bitch, you better make sure you know every god damn thing about each topic or you just prove how ignorant you are and how easily you fall into your own paranoias about what´s going on.

As a part of my fathers job he commutes to the Pentagon and on September 11th I spent about six hours convinced that he might be dead. We couldn´t get through to his cell no matter how hard we tried, my sister just about had a nervous breakdown. Turns out the old bastard was playing golf with his brothers and he couldn´t get through to us because cell phone traffic was so insanely crazy on that day. Either way what I really wanted to say was this, talking about 9/11 is all well and good but people tend to forget...this a Star Wars chatroom message board. A FREAKING STAR WARS CHATROOM MESSAGE BOARD!!!
