To the jedi who reside on Tatooine, a chace is approaching, one of which I am not sure might come again. The recent group that has poped up threating violence has brought up the Subject of a Planetary Government, so far Ion storm is for it, and hopefully the other factions would be too. This would be a good chance for the Jedi to organize and assist in creation of a new Government that will lead the planet into a new era, hopefully one of peace and prosperity. But this government will not form on its own, we must get involved, and we need to get others involved. |

Silent Nyght 5:53am, August 30, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | We wish to be allowed to help in anyway possible in this subject and wish to be included in any processes. We´dlike to see this go through as much as anyone else. |
| If Ican be of Help |
Shane_Mehbrawn 9:59pm, August 30, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | I´m not even a Jedi, I´m barely the rank of padawan, and I´ve only been on this planet for.....say 6 months? And I uderstand that being new and all that I don´t have any clue to what really happens around here. But even though I don´t know what goes on or what-not. I´m offering any help that I coul possibly be. The hand goes out not only to jedi and sith alike, but any citizen. And of course the military. |

Consul_Kronos 12:35am, September 01, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | We would be honored to offer our help in this noble endevour. We will support in any way possible. |
| Jedi Council |
Shaun Yalmari 5:56am, September 01, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | I am aware of this situation. There have been many threats and attacks, and we need a government, or Republic, and a Jedi Council to maintain peace. Only the strongest of the Jedi should be on the Council, as like the olden days. |

James Aries 7:37am, September 01, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | I think the government should be republic, somthing avaliable for even the poorest of civilians to be involved with in some way so that they may have a part of the government that will be part of their life. The Jedi do need organization and I suppose a council is the most obvious way, but I do not wish to go too back into the days of old, in the end the jedi seemd to have strayed from their purpose in the force, becoming peacekeepers and negotiators, but only for the big affairs. It seems that rest of the time they stayed in their temple and studied. The Jedi should be active in the civilian lives, we should dedicate ourselves to helping the poor and less fortuant, peacekeepers and negotatiors are good, but we must not forget those who might truely need us. |

Allen Darksaber 8:15am, September 01, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | *His gaze averts from the tome before him, to land on the holo device further infront of him. He notices all of this going on, to his suprise knowing several of the speakers. Arches a brow ever-so-slightly, as he watches with interest. *
Hmmm, a planetary government. Intriguing...
*He whispers such to himself, as he remains to watch the holoscreen. * |
| I see... |
Shaun Yalmari 9:20am, September 01, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | You are suggesting the New Council do double the work the Old Council did? We are keepers of the Peace, and yes, we should protect people. And I do understand Mos Eisley is a dangerous place. What I am suggesting, is that we recreate the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. It is in ruins, but not forgotten. |
| But why |
Shane_Mehbrawn 3:37pm, September 01, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | *As before this is a newspaper clipping with the man who wrote it stays anomynous(sp?)*
Why must it be on Curoscant? Why must everything be on Crouscant? If not here why not Yavin 4 or some other planet? I´m not even sure that Coruscant would even accept us. I mean come on, this planet isnt even part of the republic, and the New Republic isn´t exactly in good terms with the Jedi. Protectors of the peace we are. But I for one wouldn´t waste my time with this some thing as foolish as the republic. They would kill any Jedi they see becuase they think the Jedi has brought on whatever happened. As one of you said, we are not warriors, so do not bring war by setting up on Coruscant. Crouscant is also too corrupted now if think about it. The Emperor once was there and fooled all the jedi. What makes you think there is not another that you can not see. What of all the vile things the Republic has done? They are democratic in way, at least not like the old. Do not condemn the lives of the Jedi by trusting the republic, youd live longer by making and joining the ne government here.

| the so very persistent "but..." |
Yoda 7:19pm, September 01, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | Ever since the foundation of the Jedi order, there has been an unwritten agreement between the Jedi and the Republic: the latter supplied the material sources -the credits and sometimes even donated teritories to be later on used by the knights- while the Jedi kept the balance in the galaxy, so to say, negotiating, defending. By such, what Aries suggested are the usual chores of the Jedi, not something more than they used to do. So, the Republic and the Jedi have had a quite complementary relationship. Facing it truthfuly,it may a swell be told that without an outsider´s support -in his case, the Republic-, the Jedi would have nothing to lean on.
As for the temple on Coruscant, as far as yours truly is aware of, it was almost decimated during the Jedi purge. However, before the Vong attacked, the one on Yavin 4 was pretty much functional... |

James Aries 4:41am, September 02, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | A building would be nice, nothing like the temple, I belive we should have the facilities we need to train padawans, but we dont need to show off. and it will localize us, leaving us prone to attacks by people against jedi, we will need support, which is why we need a government first, then build a temple or academy or wahtever you want to call it, though I think it shouldnt be just a place for jedi to live and train, we should have homelesshelters, soup kitchens, and anything else we might need to help support the population. But as I said, first thing we need is a government, or the factions to back us.

| What if the government doesn´t want your help? |
Flying Green Squirrel 1:21am, September 03, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | Alright. Say there is some snowball´s chance in hell a government´s formed. What kind is it going to be? What forces will they choose? They´re going to most likely leave you in the dust and form their own military. I hate to say this, but Jedi cause troubles. They worry about their own personal wars (This might not be true for everyone, but for most it is) and because of your religious beliefs, don´t make you the best for military use. Any problems with a darkie, they´ll have enough tech to take them down. Also, what happens when this government gives you an order you don´t want to follow? Quit assuming that if we get a government that it´s going to be all happy and perfect. It´ll most likey be a dictatorship that isn´t much better then this. |
| No jedi |
Jake Wildfire 1:42am, September 03, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | What about a government without jedi. |
| Yea, but. |
Shaun Yalmari 2:21am, September 03, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | The Jedi seem to have almost anyone behind them, most people believe in the Jedi, and our willing to follow them. The Jedi Council shall guide the people, and dispatch other Jedi and their Padawans (possibly) to take care of the problems that threaten the people. The protect them. Thats why the people tend to rely on the Jedi. As for the government/factions, they do what they want, when they want, thats why we need a trust worthy government. |
| What about the people that don´t trust you? |
Flying Green Squirrel 2:42am, September 03, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | You just going to come in and protect them anyways? Although they don´t want it? Hey, your funeral. |

Allen Darksaber 4:20am, September 03, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | Shaun, I´m afraid your mind if plagued with faulse delusions of ritiousness. As much as I would like to agree with you, I know it is not true. People have grown arrogant, stuck up on the fact that they can do everything by themselves. No everyone likes jedi, and I believe that is due to the large acts of violence by those of the darkness. Many do not know the different between light and dark jedi, thus giving both quite a nefarious reputation. |

James Aries 5:44am, September 03, 2002 [Edit] [Delete] | I do not think the Jedi should be connected to the government, it worked ok with the old republic till the jedi became blind to what was going on. The New Jedi Order attempted to do somthing simular with the New Republic but the New Republic ended up cutting them off. Many people do not trust the jedi, and it is true our belifs could easly cause conflicts, therefore I think we should only help in the formation, and then try to exist on our own, perhaps funded by the government to build centers and stuff for the population, and if the government ever needs us for anything important they may come to us and ask. It tends to keep both sides from getting more involved they really want to be. |
