It is with heavy hearts that I find myself brought before you tonight. It would appear that...we have confirmation that the Dread Conglomerate has obliterated the Outer Rim Republic.
Following the Fall of Olympus 4, we reported that the Outer Rim Republic, one of the Federation's staunchest allies in the Outer Rim of the SW-1138 Galaxy, had gone dark. Here at the FNS we have the privledge, and solumn duty of releasing recently declassified video from Starfleet Intelligence. I will warn you, the information we about to show you is graphic. But it would appear that the worlds of the Outer Rim Republic, including Nathan and the industrial world of Charon, have all been wiped out by a series of neutron bombs.

The Dread Conglomerate has not yet released a statement but sources indicate that weapon yields and radiation signatures, along with previous aggression, have lead to the conclusion that the Conglomerate has made good on it's threats and has launched a war of genocide against the galaxy.
The Dread Conglomerate began as an offshoot of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, a rebel group operating against the Galactic Empire that had taken control of the SW-1138 Galaxy over a generation ago. Lead by Ace Kaelton, the Conglomerate conducted a number of raids along Imperial starships until hostilities ceased in the region. While the Rebellion went on to form the New Republic, the Dread Conglomerate began to splinter as Ace Kaelton's meglomania took hold. Several years ago the Conglomerate splintered; Kaelton loyalists instituted a dictatoryship, while.. *the newscast goes on with basic history of the region before recapping the story.*
