[Delete] | Hello and greetings, I'm Hans Friendly, and this is your local Duchy news for the City of Mos Eisley.
Soldiers still cleaning up after a 14 speeder pileup, caused by a maniac who ran into the leg of a patrolling RGM-79 Mobile Suit. The opperator of the vehical's last words were, reportedly, "DIE YOU GIANT ROBO-SCUM!"
The Mobile Suit was unharmed, though several bystanders were hurt and there were three fatalities regarding the debri from the smash-up causing other crashes.
In other news, the Unified School Turnout of Mos Eisley was the lowest, planetwise, according to our statistics. In responce, the Duke's Atacche to Tatooine, General Mynal Yarrik, passed a the Forced Schooling Bill(FSB), which will ensure that the young population of Mos Eisley is off the streets, and into the schools.
City Workers who 'paved' the streets (more like cleared and dusted, right Jannet?) under the previous, anarchistic rule, have been officially given jobs, and moreover, equipment, from the Mos Eisley Mastadon Base, three kilometers outside the city limits. They expect to repair the New City first, and operations are already underway.
For the Old City, there was a streak of arsons last night. Though Duchy officers on the scene counted no deaths, at least two run down bars, by the name of "Willy's Demon Shack" and "Mek'loo's Death Wok" burnt to the ground. Again, no fatalities were counted, as there were no bodies found, just ashes, presumably from the building.
In System-Wide news today, Mos Espa has reported a 47% cut in fatalities, due to the fact that vailient Duchy forces have, in fact, built them a hospital.
Drug use is up in Anchorhead. Or at least, that's what we can tell by the massive clouds of bong smoke.
A new Asteroid has been found at the edge of the system, and has been titled Axis. Mining operations are already underway.
The United Federation of Planets is formally petitioning the Duchy of Starfield against our recent welcoming to the planet of Tatooine. The Federation ambassador is said to arrive by the end of the week, and the Duke will grant him to meet face to face.

[Delete] | Earlier tonight, in a daring terrorist attack against noble Duchy forces, a renegade faction detonated a small, thermonuclear weapon against a small base just outside the city. CIvilian casualties were minimal, but the entire base, with fifty officers and three mobile suits, were lost. Captanok Ignatius Evergreen had this statement to say:
"THIS WILL NOT STAND! We will not stand for these glaring terrorist attacks to this city, with little or no regard to civilian casualties! Non-combatants will not be engaged as long as we stand on this soil! We shall find these terrorists, and root them out wherever they stand, dead or alive!"
Similiarly, as we speak, there seems to be some type of dogfight over the city, and out on the outskirts, there's a report of a mobile suit fight, perhaps featuring the Legendary Gundam, and it's ace pilot, Elvis Sandlewood. More on that story as it develops! |
