 Massive Cantina Meeting

*gets a really big glass jar. Lables it "Cantina fund." puts it on her shelf.*

I'm saving money. Know why?

Because Ive been comming here for almost ten years.

And I want to meet as many of you as possible.

Dont worry, I'm only marrying Tim.

But I think that I'm probably not the only one that would think it would be super cool for the lot of us to get together some where.

And since the majority of us are in the east coast - mostly concentrated in the PA-ish newengland tristate area-esque part of the country... ive been looking for some sort of cons in those general areas. I Think a convention of some type of Geektitude would be a good place to have such a gathering. its both filled with fun crap to do and see, as well as lots of people, making it very safe.

So, here is a list of cons ive found over the net that I think might work best, due to location. PLease feel free to add to the list.(because im sorry to say most of these are anime cons. its not cause of bias, its just cause i really dont know of any other cons out there on the country.. i mean, theres more to life than anime and Xena? who knew.) ^_^ and give any other ideas.

The topic has been discussed in the past.... had we all the money there was once a plan to gather everyone up and have a big assed paintball war. However a Con does sound like fun *glances through the list* Conneticon sounds like fun, but thats just because there is usually an MT panel there.

Personal prefrence, always wanted to attend one con in my life. Preferably one with a Megatokyo panel since I do like that webcomic. And wandering the Dealers room would be fun as well.

Well I'm down for meeting at the Pittsburgh comicon, even though it's kind of weak, I like going to those anyways, and I could go to the next one with Zon if he'd be down.

It occurs to me that it might be a good idea to hold a meet on the East Coast and one on the West Coast. But then it also occurs to me that I think there are only two of us on the West Coast. Am I right or wrong? Let me know.

Sounds like a good idea for me. I've gone for the last two years- -hung out with pog for the first one, fucker saw me and ignored me at the second.

Me and Mike have been trying to arrange a Cantina-con for some time now (before PJJ). So this is a phenomenally great idea that I have support for.

Of course, Pittsburgh ain't exactly the greatest place...(then again, neither is Connecticut, which I hear has a much better con).
 What about boston?

Yeah.. what about us on the west coast? Ace, dont worry. I'm sure we will meet some time. I keep moving closer up that way and you (I think) go towards Bend sometimes.

I wouldn't have ignored you if you weren't below my level of vision!

Plus, you should of said something wolverine. That being said, I've been to tekkoshocon and it ain't so great. The Comicon is alright and I got to talk to Holly Golightly and the guy who does Elsinore because my friend was barkeep. That was sweet.
I doubt you even remember me

I too, am quite the anti-fan of anime, not that its any skin off anyones nose if I dont show. If its more in a California / Seattle area I could probley pull it off easier since its where most of my wifes family is from and I could pawn it off as a trip to visit them. Other than that, dunno.

as far as the anime issue goes, youre missing the point

the point is that it be some sort of geekly based convention, as thats probably the best -- and certainly the safest -- way to meet up.

its not about it being anime or not. it could be a comic book convention, or a sci fi con, gaming con ... or a frigin granny swim meet knitting circlefor all i care...

just ... yeah... big group. stuff to do. two or three days to do it. fun! Thats more my point.

Mel, perhaps we could get a list of who could go and under what conditions, then decide upon the event... Just a suggestion... I personally would rather avoid a comic con for fear of people like Cru

I propose that we have two meets, one for East Coasters and one for West Coasters..... we could make the West Coast meet somewhere as "middle-ground" as possible. yay? nay?
