Tensions are on the rise past Ilum in the region known as Wild Space. Focused on the systhem of Killruk, an unclaimed uninhabited system with no habitable planets. Wildcat miners and Tragolite Federation colonists have comes to blows after a series of negotiations on mining rights and sovereignty agreements have broken down. A series of armed conflicts between the two group have reached the ears of both Rylos and Courscant, raising the question, who has righful claim. Colonists claim that their charter is supreme as the system was scouted 40 years ago by mineral prospectors, while the independent miners claim their presence supercedes any charter and declaring themselves Galactic Republic represenatives.

TF naval officials have released a statement clarifying that a detachment of ships from 1st Rishi Defense Fleet have been dispatched to Killruk with full compliment of Tragolite Federation Marines to quell the fighting and enforce a cease fire. They stress that negotiations must be continued to peacefully resolve the situation. "Force may be necessary." He was quoted to have added.

I have sent elements of the 1st Rishi Defense fleet to Killruk to prevent further bloodshed between the settlers remaining on planet. I find it is important to allow negotiations to continue so a fair balance agreement can be reached to remove the unsanctioned miners from the system.

I've also declared the Killruk system a Tragolite Federation protectorate as I've found no proof to the miners claims of legitmacy. In addition, to assist in the talks I've dispatched Celestial Priestess Acher to act as a mediator between the two factions in the hope that a resolution can quickly be found.

I would like to announce my committal to the people of Killruk in addition to making it clear that outside influences will not be allowed to interfere in our processes.

As of yesterday morning, predawn, tensions on the mining colony world of Killruk came to a head as shots were fired by wildcat forces. After a breakdown of talks between Mining corporation representatives and disgrunted wildcat miners claiming Republic citizenship, predawn assualts were conducted on outlying comminities using small arms and primitive artillery weaponry, followed by the occupation of several outlying setttlements. Casualty reports have not been confirmed but initial estimates suggest that the deathtoll is currently over 10,000 colonists.

Tragolite Federation peacekeepers, under the command of General Andrew Mezidon, who were already stationed on the planet to provide a buffer between the two groups and to attempt to prevent bloodshed were dispatched as soon as distress calls were received from outlying settlements. they were met with ruthless aggression and deadly force by sleeper cells and terrorist actions across the planet. Grand Admiral Jelnelle Cyprus has dispatched local Tragolite Federation Marines to killruk to relieve the beseiged peacekeeping forces and to bolster the strength of the 1st Rishi Defense fleet, who has been keeping station and securing Killruk space since the tensions began. By command of the Grand Admiral, all space traffic to or from Kilruk has been prohibited.
