These troops have been placed under the Bestine Police Chiefs direction, they are full-time pacification units and are expect to act with the upmost professionalism at all times, troops have been briefed on rules of engagement and should bring around a quick return to the status quo. The Imperial Royals have also dispatched 3 squads of volunteer policemen from across thier Empire to assist the people of Bestine and protect city-wide utilities.  Its over Bestine Today 6:37am, October 09, 2008 [Edit] [Delete] Reports coming in tell us that the Wayfar militia has dispatched a group of volunteers to assist the Tragolite Federation peacekeeping effort in the city. After the death of police chief O'neil, Major Pete Phlanks of the Tragolite Federation has assumed control over the Bestine forces and the peacekeeping coalition. Already most protesters have been rounded up and dispersed back to thier homes. Official reports from independent officials and charity groups state that tear gas was used on the crowds along with foam projectiles. 20 arrests have been made and the captives turned over to bestine corrections, no reports of civilian injurys besides minor injuries. Tragolite officials state that 13 coalition forces have been severely wounded by weaponry ranging from thrown objects to laser rifles. Officials state that anyone wishing to leave or come to Bestine will be allowed to as always, thier decision has come after several distasteful actions taken by other cities and thier "allies". Community leaders have already endorsed the governments decision and there will be no change. Council leader Kils Bethromo stated today that price gouging will be deal with harshly. They have also invited Kukai officials to oversee the transition to be assured that humane conditions are held to. In other news, local clergymen have called for an end to unrest and the resumption of day to day business. We are concerned that this is a faction movement meant to split and conquer more of whats left of the independent lands of Tatooine. we urge factions with troops on the ground to ensure the stability and then leave, as they may sway the votes. We will have a Task force of 10 ships entering the system. as always they will not make any attempt at hindering the traffic to or from the planet and will not be involved with any altercations unless allied forces or theres a call for help. our task force will also consist of two medical frigates to render aid to anyone who requires it. we will not be landing any teams but shuttles will be there to run patients back and forth, and we will pay extra to private shuttle pilots who wish to help us. In a huge upset, Council leader Kils Bethromo was defeated by a recent unkown, Senator Akkor Gauss. Many elected officials retained thier positions save the Defense officials who were all purged by the election, the former Head of Defense Paul Donahue was defeated in a close vote by General(ret.) Karter Orrey, a former Tragolite Marine Commander who has contributed his life to the City of Bestine and now claims he is "Humbled" by the chance to provide safety and security for the city and its inhabitants. The State-Senate has a majority of conservative leaders now, with almost all liberals losing thier seats.
