A brand new map of the Outer Rim has been published by the Queen's Press after the announcement of the Queen's acquisition of formerly neutral territory. This is in response to growing tensions and rapidly changing politics in the area.

Three incidents have happened within the last few weeks that have warranted a change to the map. The first was the bizarre arrival of a strange alien fleet through the Route of Ages. Calling themselves a "Blood Raider Angel Alliance" (or as the Flag Officers of the Queen's military has taken to calling it, BRAA) they attacked Armada vessels and have established a military presence in what was formerly known as the Demilitarized Corridor. In fact the nebula they have claimed as their own is the one now known in the Queen's Space as Genocide Nebula because of it was the location of Commander Kaelton's antimatter weapon detonation.
Then another strange new alien appeared recently as well. Calling themselves the Yeerk Empire, a bizarre hodge-podge collection of various aliens (including humans) has claimed two previously unnamed starsystems just to the galactic south of both the Queen's space and the New Republic. The rapid colonization of the planets by the Yeerks has led to investigations by the Queen's forces. The investigations, however, have only led to more questions as the Yeerks maintain a tremendous level of privacy.
To further issues, the Demilitarized Corridor was the scene of a brief battle between the Royal Domestic Patrol and a group of unknown raiders flying Death Seeds of Twi'ilek design. The raiders attempted to hijack an entire weapons shipment on its way to Tatooine. Despite their cargo, the merchant vessels were unarmed and unable to defend themselves. When the Domestic Patrol responded to their distress call, it was attacked and sunk by the fighters. Despite a quick reaction by Albay Gladius of the Queen's Armada, the raiders were able to escape into hyperspace.
However, in the wake of all this change, madness, and violence, the Queen has annexed the Demilitarized Corridor. She has publicly announced that unarmed ORR vessels moving through this territory, however, will be unmolested and protected. But all others will be fired upon.
She has re-dubbed the area, the "Rim War Zone", as she is declaring martial law in the area and announcing a tripartite governorship of the sector with Admiral Usset, Field Marshall Shimatsu, and Albay Gladius sharing equal and supreme command of the area. Though sources close to the Palace of Rak say that this will be Field Marshall Shimatsu's first major thrust for power and that the Admiral and Albay's other positions will have them far too busy to manage a war.
With a surge in the Federal spending in Research and Development, analysts say we should prepare for a new generation of warships and soldiers designed specifically for this war. |
| Interesting Question |
Uncle Detde 10:50am, August 01, 2008 [Edit] [Delete] | Is there those interested in producing a more accurate, and mabe slightly expanded area map? My own ideas and self mapping attempts would put any republic territory along the left (eastern whatever) side of tatooine, and probably not actually visible from this map.
http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a365/Detjen/New%20Republic/Tatzoom.jpg this was the old map I had produced myself some time ago, the orange being DC territory from a map I had been given.
If there's no real interest then don't worry about it. But i don't mind a little Cartography |
| You missed it, Det. |
FALCON X-0N 2:20pm, August 01, 2008 [Edit] [Delete] | We're already working on something similiar, Det.
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i285/FALCONX0N/BIGMapofALLspacecopy.jpg We havn't finished filling it in yet. There fact is we're not talking systems as spread out as a pure 'galactic pullback' would afford us.
Also, feel free to add to the map I posted there. Ace already did, but he can't seem to figure out how to upload a better version. |

Uncle Detde 10:01am, August 02, 2008 [Edit] [Delete] | Yea, dont quite need the full galactic view anyway, since its pretty standard still. though I might get bored and retouch up some of the maps I was playing with.
Anyways for the local stuff this is what i had for the republic.

Kind of shifts things around, and was a big pain in the backside to edit, what with all the individually colored pixels around the the border |
