It is a FATE based hard Sci-Fi role playing game. What we do, only with futzy dice and character sheets.
What's it handle? Individual interaction, large scale ground combat, SPACESHIPS and battles of will and ideology.
Do you have to buy the book? Heeeeell no. Basic rules are here. It's HTML, built for Spirit of the Century and you can probably just read the core mechanics and advancement and be good.
Are going to do this? Well, that is up to you.
