Cantina Tutorial for Newbies and Anyone Else, for That Matter

1. Know the difference between IC (in character) and OOC (out of character). OOC posts are enclosed ((Like this)). Posts can only interact with posts of the same type.
2. Respect others who know what they are doing, and help those who don't (if you know what you're doing). This will make your life, and everyone else’s much easier.
3. DON'T TYPE IN ALL CAPS LIKE THIS!!!! It doesn't make you look any smarter, angrier, or make your penis any bigger. Anger can be expressed more effectively like this- "Look, you dickhead, I don't have your damn Woolongs!" Note the difference between that and- "LOOK, YOU DICKHEAD, I DON'T HAVE YOUR DAMN WOOLONGS!!!!!!".
4. Don't take OOC matters IC, or IC matters OOC. But if you happen to do so, don't bitch when everyone and their brother comes around to take you out.
5.Don't think that you can dodge chain gun fire from pointblank when you're turned the other way, or that you can dodge a sniper’s bullet intentionally (Freak accidents, however, do happen. The cantina has a large number of disposable NPC's [non-player characters]...).
6. 42 Is the meaning of life, we need someone to figure out what the fuck the question is.
6. Paying for drinks in the cantina is pointless, charge them to Buzzes tab, he never pays it anyway.

8.In case of monster or army attack, point the assailants in the opposite direction of the Poker Club members.
9. Think up your own damn reason. I'm gonna go drink some more port.
10. Never assume you are part of someone else’s faction, or that someone else is part of your faction. Always confirm this, otherwise you'll get a really nasty surprise and big union dues checks when they find out you aren’t.
11: If you are in a faction, be VERY aware of what faction you are in, its goals and chain of command. If you ignore these very important things, you're likely to get gang raped by everyone else in the faction and all of its allies. They don't hand out top-level security clearance to everyone who scrubs the floors.
12. Words enclosed in *.* are almost always actions. EX- *sips ale* Just about everyone uses this, except for the occasional jackass who comes in once a year and won't listen to reason. Words enclosed in {.} are usually used for NPC's, [.] for COMM's (communication devices), and ~.~ for telepathy and thinking to ones self. These are the most common uses, but they aren't mandatory. That means that they can be used for other things as well. However, If you don't use them, people are gonna’ bitch. In the author's opinion, if you can't figure out what the hell something means and it pertains to you, and you don't ask, you deserve to be dragged out in the street and stoned (pelted with big pointy rocks, not given a joint and instructed to smoke it)
13. For all public stonings, there will be a stone vender nearby who is selling stones that have been pre-selected by a group of stoned Stone Expert's, for their size, weight, and pointyness factor. Anyone caught using stones that aren't certified, will be stoned themselves.
14. Contrary to popular belief, it is impossible to wage a personal war against a major corporation and live. These things are at least done in groups of 3 and more often by large armies owned by rival corporations.
15. Time for some explanations of some common posts you will see.
*L*-Laughs, Laughing, etc.
*LOL*-Laughs out loud, Laughing out loud, pretty much the same thing as *L*
*LMAO*-Laughing My Ass off
*ROTFLMAO*-Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off (Variation)
*ROTFLMFAO*-Rolling on the floor Laughing my fucking ass off)
*S*-Smiles, Smiling, etc.
*EG* Evil Grin
*VEG* Very Evil Grin
*RaE*-Raises an eyebrow
*SMCYSNF*-Suck my cock, you stupid newbie-fuck.
Well…maybe that last one isn’t quite as common as some of us would like.
16. After a character dies, and you decide to rename him, maybe give him a cosmetic makeover, but play essentially the same character as before-Be creative with it. Don’t turn “Random Asswipe” into “Random Asswipe2” if he gets whacked
17. The simple fact that a core of regulars who RP here have been RPing longer than some of you have been alive, does mean shit when you try and argue it out with us. We know what we’re talking about, for the most part. Yes, we can be intolerant. Yes, we can be assholes. That’s because we’ve been through the same thing with a lot of other people Around here-the only break you get is a small transition period when you first show up.

19. It is possible to become almost immeaditely accepted and respected by the majority of the RP community who attend this chat. Back in the day, I was known as the “Six Month Vet” by some people.
20. Merely because you are a citizen of the United States (all other citizens are exempt from this rule, for the most part), do not assume that everybody else is as well. Do not assume that everyone is in the same time zone, either. Do not expect everyone to immediately pick up on the most obscure American references you make. Don’t care about this one? Take a look at rule # 18, again.
21. If you were reading these one per year, since the time you were born, you can now legally drink! Have one on us, really.
22. Any rule covered later in the guide, that was covered before, is covered twice for two reasons.
23. No char is ever invincible.
Reason 1-I’m too fucking lazy to go back and reread stuff I typed over a year ago.
Reason 2-It won’t kill you to reiterate some of these concepts.
