Please stay on topic, and resist flaming. If you start throwing insults, get upset/ act immaturely, your post will be edited or deleted.

Most of ya are probly familar of the Quij rp and all, personally im not too upset about losing James, ive been upset over it a couple times, but well it unfortuantly happened. What Ive been having a hard time with recently is the fact that recently everything seems to be kill everyone and everything, its all violence and death, seems like noones actually working on rping, devloping characters through things other than shooting each other. Now I dont see everything going on, ive talked with mikey before posting all this and he pointed out that everyone tends to be a bit narrow minded, and im no exception. I think rp is going to hell, leaving only these faction squabblings between like one or two actual peopel and then hundreds of NPCS. I think we need change, we need to get the tina back to a level where its enjoyable to rp again, where people can actuall rp without fearing for their life everytime they take a step, or a drink or anything else. shrugs this probly all mindless ranting, but the basics are, We need realistic rps, characters that are normal people who live semi-normal lives, Everything needs to be toned down to playable levels again, or the tina will jsut end up a place where a few gather to chat ooc and a couple come ic every now and then, blwo up a building and then gloat over somthing everyone else has done already.

FALCON X-0N 11:22am, December 03, 2002 [Edit] [Delete]	I disagree. Faction RP is more political, sure, but not by a whole lot. I came from the Vs, where faction RP was not only high level, but the planet would get regularly blown up. Here, we've got it to a nice level where the danger is there, but no one has their guns pointed (um, anymore). Faction sims, in fact, are really getting kind of rare, with the trags gone. and you know, its not take it or leave it. You can have gunslingin' and character development at the same time. Here's a few good examples spring to mind: First off, Jek Nado. Now, not Jek Jek, but "I'm-Really-Vash-But-Don't-Tell-Anyone" Jek,the character. After enough violence and bloodshed, he got increasingly darker and darker. In responce, Ash (me) got darker as well, because we'd be bitching at each other. Later on, both our chars took seperate steps towards recovering their lost personality, over the course of a year. Another example being recently whats gone down with the Slider- -at one point, the whole Thanatos thing unhinged him to a point where he was going to, and had the weapons capable to, destroy the planet. But he seems to have this under control...or does he? I'm sure everyone has stories about how their chars have changed directly through sims that weren't just "blah blah, lets talk about feeeeelings!" Also, one last thing.... go back to an earlier age when people didn't just shoot each other? What 'tina did you go to? ba-dum ching

But it really bugs me when people harass others and attack them IC due to something that happened OOC. If they have a motive to attack IC then do it, but don't do it just because you don't like the person OOC. It also bugs me when people won't let things happen. If Sonja and Mera are going to be killed because no one wants to give up their characters, it's going to happen. I'm almost past the point of caring. If Sonja dies, she dies. I would rather her not to, but please don't come up to others and rub it in. And by rubbing it in I mean always talk about it to where the person would rather have the character dead. I don't want people giving up on rp-ing because this happened. There will be other characters. shrugs I don't really want everyone hating each other because of something stupid. sighs I think that's all I have to say. If there's more I will post it as I think of it.

As for violence... I do agree that there is too much run and gun. Not to say there should be total peace, but people should focus more on the pysch aspect also. Zon, your examples are becoming the exception rather than the rule.

If you don't like it, fuck you. 1: Get Everyone Involved - Mindless destruction is the exception to this rule. Example: You and some buddies go after secret treasure. Sounds like a good way to kill an evening. But what if a corporation decided to trail them, an ancient clan gave the group false info to lead them off the right track, the jedi found out that there was an ancient artifact hidden with it that brings out their force powers, and the poker club just happens to be having a kegger outside the place? Fun for everyone! 2:Rules can be bent for plot and a better storyline - Another one that could be abused. Then again, if you abuse it, I'll find a way to stomp you into the fucking ground. Check with your admins for permission to do things to advance plot. 3:BRAGGART ASSHOLE CHARACTERS MUST DIE! - I swear to christ, the reason this place will die is because everyone is gonna have the same fucking character. Sadly, they all have to think they're the best and they fight other people that think they're the best and....I hope they all fucking die. Before you say anything about Grant, through character development, he became a hero and a martyr, so fuck you. Character development can save you from rule no 3. 4:Newbies Suck - Nothing ruins an rp quicker then some fuckhead that doesn't know what he's doing and decides to join in. Let him experience one of the greater hardships in his cantina life early and put a bullet in his fucking head. 5:Description of.....stuff. - Make your descriptions vivid! Add life to your planets, describe the background's every little detail. Tell us what your characters look like. Describe your actions more throughly! All of this will make the scenes come alive, make it more exciting, and help avoid hassles with the rules. 6:I'm pissed off all the time. - I'm a fucking asshole. If you don't like it, take your whiney head and go suck on a tailpipe you fucking prick. 7:Space battles in space, land battles on land. - Hitting a lone character with a proton torpedo may be enjoyable (I'd love to see that) Keep your battles seperated. There's too much of a power unbalance there and it's like attacking a Grizzly Bear with a fucking toothpick. 8:Tech does not equal Plot - Just because you have tech shooting out your ass does not make it fun. It just makes the other guy get more tech until the planet blows up and we all start arguing again. 9:I was in (Military Organization/Club/Cult/YMCA) for a day and your doing this all wrong and I know more then you! - Fuck off. If you know more, prove it. 10: Have fun - Good luck with this one.

The death of perkins has opened up a doorway for a new Age in general role playing. We've forged The Cantina into a megalithic dustball industrial hell hole....nothing wrong with that. But how bout we get back to a general plot, save the dramatic scenes for the dramatic scenes. So I say, ....anyone wanna buy a mech, maybe a veritech, a gear, somekind of freak mobile suit. Purhcase now from Clan, ...something something something... and even begin your own clan(with actual player characters...no NPCs please) and have some fun cleaning each others clocks with large mechanical things...or small mechanical things.

As with the factions, they're perfectly fine, it brings a semblence of reality to our fictious little world. I think there should be a balance between gunslinging and character development. you sit around too much flapping your gums and nothing gets done and on the opposite end of the spectrum, every jek, mike and zon kills you if you run around shooting everything. My two cents.

My reason for this is three-fold A: I've got a lot of shit going on. This has nothing to do with this topic, and y'all probably don't care, so I'll shut up about this one. B: All my chars (with a few exceptions) are DC chars. Playing an entire military organization means that if DC ain't doing anything, I ain't doing anything. C: Faction rp is dying/dead. This is an opinion, so please don't hurt me hides It seems to me that lately the only factions around are Starfleet (who don't do a whole lot that affects the other factions, no offense, Zon); Scott's little empire-thingie (Which just confuses and sorta scares me); The DC (rarely, whenever I get my lazy ass around to going IC); Shinra (evil empire!); and occasionally some of the land factions. I'm going to try and be IC more often, and step up DC activity, and I invite all other faction leaders to do the same. Thus sayeth Ace, do what you will.
