If you're going to use an avatar image, host it at http://image.projectjj.dk or on your own site. (IE: Don't go to http:www.XxxXxXx.com and copy an image URL from there to use in the avatar.)Do not leech bandwidth off someone else. I don't encourage stealing images, but if you're going to do it anyways, save the file and upload it elsewhere. I don't want to have to lay out consequences but I will if it does not stop. And make no mistake, I will enforce them.
 Er, two questions...

I'll admit it, I'm a leecher, and in a big way. Most of my (Starfleet only) stuff comes from Fedplace.de- -but, that's a lot of pictures. fleetcom6 for Zon, ncc1701c for blackwell, etc etc. Kensei uses a few as well.

SO, two questions: first off, how do you upload to the JJ server? I'm in the dark here.

and secondly, you gonna enforce us piddly "have a seperate hosting place" like at ranchoweb or some such? That's where the majority of my(and jeks for that matter) junk is.

Uploading stuff to the PJJ server is as easy as going to "image.projectjj.com" and following the simple instructions. Just insure that if you do use this feature, don't be a dick and eat up bandwith and space with gigantic images, or uploading duplicates, or tons of useless images. Try to Size 'em down to avatar picture size manually first. Anyway, I'm back off to hell...

Finding a image is hard enough but trying to put on on project jj just makes more work, Its not like were making any money of the pictures.
You may not be making any money, but neither are the people you're leeching bandwith off.

By leeching that tiny bit of bandwith, you're costing the person who owns that domain money, every time someone new logs in and views that picture, it's costing the host server money to redirect that and transfer that data. It slows down their networks, and is illegal in most cases. If you're gonna steal pictures, at least be courtious (sp?) enough to not make them shell out money and resources so that you can display their work as your own.

There are more places than jj to put your pictures, but I agree with them, if your gonna go stealing them in the first place, at least dont cost the other guy money by using up all his bandwith. the picture that I use I got permisson by the guy but I couldnt use it from his site anyways so I had to transfer it to JJ, its not really that hard. I will also assist mikey in enforcing the stuff if I have too.

If what they say about Paladium is true, keep stealing windows platforms. *L*
Stealing software isn't what I was getting at here...

Hell, I'd be the worlds biggest hipocrite if I told you that pirating software was something that you shouldn't do. Hell, I have enough pirated OS's and high-end applications to make your head spin. Pirating software is different than leeching bandwidth, though. When you borrow a piece of software and copy it, you aren't costing the company that produces it any money as far as making another CD with said piece of software on it, and shipping it out to your house, or a store. When you leech bandwitdh, you're costing the person who owns the server, and the person who pays for hosting space on the server money. You know what? I just might have gone over this before, in an earlier post. Well kiddes, the lesson here is-Don't be an ass.
