Name: Ong Lei, Crowned Princess

Gender: Female

Race: Xenshinese Human

Age: 19 years old

Height: 5'

Weight: 110 lbs

Appearance: Lei is five feet tall, with the lightly tanned skin of her people and the dark hair and eyes as well. She normally wears her hair up, both to keep it out of her way and decoratively, as befitting her position. She tends to wear pale gold, silver, white, and red silk and embroidered clothing, elegant when necessary but more simple and practical the rest of the time as she prefers to think of herself as a warrior in training than as a lady. Her figure is that of a well toned but slender athlete as she does train in martial arts and swordplay almost daily.

Personality: Lei is a very stubborn individual. She has ideas very firmly set in her mind about what is right and what she wants to accomplish. Honor is very important to her, as is strength. She is sometimes disrespectful to her elders as she believes they all failed years ago when her country of origin was attacked, though she has softened to some extent on this as time has passed. Where she was once bitter, she now has resolve to restore honor to her family name.

Personality Flaws: She is incredibly stubborn and has a tendency to become bitter and hold grudges.

Dreams/Aspirations: She wants to become as strong as she can be in order to one day lead an attack upon her old homeland. She believes that vengeance upon those who killed her father and took their land will restore honor to her family. She would never admit it, even to herself, but deep down she is trying to fill the shoes of her dead brother.

Hobbies: Training, bothering Diablo, trying to blend in with the normal people, trying to escape the watchful eyes of the palace, taking good care of her weapons, and more training

Lei was the first child born to the Emperor Jianyu and his first wife and current empress Xifeng. She always favored her father, who treated her with respect and probably even spoiled her to some degree. Even after her younger brother was born, he still would play with her and teach her little things about her abilities and martial arts. When her home country was attacked and the capital burned, she fled with her mother and many other women and children, eventually to restart their lives on the island of Xenshi. She was bitter for the first year or so over the loss of her beloved father and even sad over the death of her pesky little brother who had chosen to stay behind and fight like a man. Part of her wished that she could have fought beside them and perished in the glory of battle as well.

Her life is generally lonely as far as companionship goes, as most of the children her own age treat her with cold respect as the princess, and her half brothers and sisters from her father's other marriages are several years younger than herself. Her days are spent in studies of fighting, elemental control, diplomacy, how to be a proper hostess and wife, and book studies such as history, math, language, and calligraphy. While she now understands the reason for all this being that she was chosen to become the next empress after her mother is gone, she still does not enjoy it (save for the more physical trainings) and takes whatever time she can away from her tutors to enjoy small tastes of freedom.

She often butts heads with her mother and generally does not at all like Yan Huiqing, whom she refers to as "Aunt," because her element is weak to Huiqing's, making her feel uncomfortable. She also has a strange friendship of sorts budding with Diablo Arma'Dare, sometimes outright insulting him, other times holding him in high regard, and even confiding in him on rare occasion. Eventually, she started calling him "shifu," and he took her on as a student. Since she listens to him much better than her other tutors, he has taken over the majority of her studies, leaving only the cultural things to her old tutor. She flourishes under his instruction.
