Name: Isilme Lightbringer

Gender: Female

Race: Elf

Age: 34 years old, appears and acts 17

Height: 5'

Weight: 100lbs

Appearance: Isilme has a slender build with soft womanly curves. She has wavy white hair, blue eyes, pointed elven ears, and a light smattering of freckles on her cheeks. Her clothing is rather simple and she is usually seen wearing a blouse and skirt in shades of blue. She rarely wears shoes and much prefers to just run around barefoot. She often has a disheveled appearance as she doesn't really worry about how she looks. Also, there is some faint scarring from old burns on her legs.

Personality: Isilme is usually on the shy and quiet side. When she's in a good mood, she can be social, caring, curious, creative, and on occasion downright silly and can be persuaded to get into things she shouldn't by people she trusts. When she is down, however, she can fall into very deep depressions that make her even quieter than normal. She generally doesn't like it when people ask her too many personal questions and will clam up around nosy people. She enjoys the outdoors regardless of the weather.

Flaws: She suffers from PTSD and claustrophobia. She has a tendency to be socially awkward and has a constant stuttering problem that worsens when she is overly emotional.

Hobbies/Interests: Painting, drawing, stargazing - though she spends most of her free time studying to get through all of her remedial classes. She also enjoys reading funny stories.

Dreams/Aspirations: She would like to master her magic so as to avoid any accidents and become a healer like her mother was. After she's achieved all that through school, she'd like to just go live a quiet life somewhere.

Isilme's story begins a couple hundred years from now. Galen Lightbringer eventually reunites with and marries Ellie, although this has not happened yet for him, and they have two children, a boy and then a girl. The girl grows up and gets married to an elven farmer and moves out into the countryside to be with him, and they have one child, a girl named Isilme.

Isilme's childhood was rather sheltered as she spent most of her time out on her family's farm. She always had a stutter, and her mother being a rather sensitive sort, feared that Isilme would face a lot of teasing from other children. So, when the time came for Isilme to start attending school, Suleya decided it would be best to try to homeschool the little girl. This worked well at first and Isilme began learning reading and writing and the common language and some basic math, but still spent most of her time outdoors with the farm animals instead of studying. Her favorite was the horse Tixe who mostly helped around the farm by pulling a cart, although Isilme also loved taking her out for bareback riding sessions through the fields and forest.

All was well and good until Isilme's magic gift started to show up at age 19 (physically almost ten years old, so still a little girl). Not having received any formal teaching on it from her mother yet and with a lack of precautions taken, things suddenly went terribly wrong one dry summer night. She was laying on her bed and couldn't sleep, so she was creating little sparks. Having no real control over them yet, she accidentally caught her curtains on fire, and it started to spread through the house. Unable to stop it, Isilme raced to her parents bedroom to get their help. Unbeknownst to her, however, that evening they had received the bad news that her paternal grandfather had died in an accident and his wife wouldn't be long for this world. They had kept the news from Isilme and then had taken some sleeping potions to help them deal with the grief and sleep through the night to be able to make the long journey the next morning to see her grandmother before she passed away. This meant that when Isilme went to wake them up, she couldn't stir them. In a panic, she tried to drag her mother outside, but being a little girl, she didn't have enough strength to pull her far enough to save her. The flames grew and started to burn Isilme, so she had to abandon her sleeping parents and barely escaped the burning cabin herself. The sun rose above the smouldering remains of her home, and yet no one had come to check on them. So, with the help of Tixe, she dug a shallow grave and buried what little was left of her parents.

Blaming herself for the death of her parents, she decided to run away, sure that she would be labeled a murderer. She took Tixe and whatever she could find useful from the barn and rode off deep into the woods, determined to live out the life of a hermit. It was difficult for the first few years, but eventually through much trial and error she was able to learn the skills that enabled her to survive. She began living a nocturnal lifestyle because the more dangerous things were out at night and she found it easier to run from them than to hide while sleeping. She also burrowed out a small cave that she used to store some of her belongings in and would stay in for shelter during the worst weather. However, due to her claustrophobia, she never stayed in the cave any more than necessary. Eventually, she also lost Tixe, as one night a pack of hungry wolves came upon them. The horse was injured from tripping in an unseen hole and couldn't outrun the wolves and Isilme had to climb a tree for safety and was completely unable to save the last friend she had.

She was entirely alone from then on, until she was 33 years old. At that point, a pair of hunters found her asleep during the daytime and took her in. They didn't harm her, but did question her until they found out who she was. By this point, Galen had become practically legendary for his fighting and heroics, so the hunters had no trouble piecing together that they were family. Isilme was taken to Erufu Capital and dropped off with her grandparents, who became her legal guardians at this point. Ellie and Galen were quite happy to find her alive, having assumed that she had perished all those years before in the fire, and didn't press her for any details. However, it quickly became apparent that Isilme was still very much in need of schooling, and the public school just didn't seem like a good fit. Since Galen was a part of the Erufu Military, he was very familiar with the knight Hunter Gabrielolus and found out that he was running an academy in another dimension for troubled magic users such as Isilme, so after much discussion, they sent her there. Isilme misunderstood and felt that she was just being passed along as a sort of burden, however, and felt unwanted by her grandparents.

Hunter's Academy was fine for her for a year and she slowly adapted to living in daylight hours again and learned how to stand up for herself. She progressed academically just fine, but still struggled with her magic due to the strong negative memories and emotions she had tied to it. During this time, she made the acquaintance of Aneka Milan, a strange half-elf who had decided automatically that they were "besties." Isilme somewhat liked the girl but was often confused and sometimes downright embarrassed by her behavior. However, when Aneka talked of her home, it sounded almost identical to Isilme's own home. She eventually decided that the details that didn't match up must have just been due to her own lack of knowledge of her homeland since she'd been so sheltered, and so obviously they came from the same place. It made sense to the girls, and so when Hunter transferred some of the students to Trinity Academy, Isilme followed Aneka through her portal as it seemed the correct thing to do at the time. She ended up in the correct place, sure, but as it so happened it was the wrong time. And thus Isilme finds herself in Erufu, but a few hundred years too early.

Note: Due to how sheltered Isilme was while growing up and then her time in the woods, she doesn't know nearly enough about the future to be useful in that way. Sorry, no world series scores in advance.
